I have had a white spot on my right nipple since I had a bout of mastitis a few months back. It changes in size, sometimes only the size of a pinpr!ck, sometimes the size of a matchhead and in between. I have tried to squeeze it out, though I'm worried about hurting my nipple. Is it a blocked duct? Sometimes it starts to...well not hurt, but I can feel when DS feeds and it is pulling inside, like it's pulling the duct inside my breast. So I think the duct is still draining, there is no lump there or anything. That was the feeling I got when I had mastitis too, though it was painful then. I'm worried it is going to cause another bout of mastitis. What should I do?

Hun, it sounds like a condition called, funnily enough, "white spot". You might be able to get more info from googling it, but bascially it's a bit of dried milk causing a little blockage. The best thing to do is to get a sterile needle and try to pierce it. The ABA should be able to give you more advice also.
I had that on one side too and it coincided with mastitis too! I've never heard of 'white spot' but I picked mine off in the end - it was blocking milk flow and my little one didn't like it.
I've had a white spot a few times but mine were really painful. Luckily, I never had mastitis (yet). I found taking a panadol half hour before a feed helped with the painful feeds and I hand expressed and gently squeezed it in the shower. Took a few days to clear.
