What do I do now when DS is 12 months?

DS is coming one now and he has 3 feeds a day, one before breakfast, one before lunch and one to sleep at night after dinner. I know there are no set rules, but what do I do now- change the first 2 feeds till after the meals or leave it all how it is? Thanks in advance!

are you happy with how he is eating? are you happy with how you are feeding? is DS happy? if everyone is happy I wouldn't change it. If you want to drop a feed... well that is upto you.

I am still feeding once a day but as it is 'dawn' which in our house can start anywhere from 3 am he feeds at least twice I think, once when he wakes up which is betweent 3am and 5 am and just before we get out of bed about 7am cause sometime he will go to sleep which I just looove cause I get to stay in bed a little longer

It sounds like you've got a great system going on there. If it ain't broke - no need to fix it. What are your plans for breastfeeding? If you were keen to wean soon you might changethe system a bit, but if you wanted to keep breastfeeding just leave it as it is

Yep agree with the PPs, if you're happy then keep doing what you're doing! Sounds like you're doing a fantastic job!

FWIW my DS was still having 2 feeds per day before he turned one.

I think at that age, my DS had dropped his lunch feed, but would still have one before breakfast and before bedtime.

i agree with the PPs - don't change it if it's not a problem for you & you're happy with how he's going/eating. i think by 12 months they've settled into a pattern that suits them (for now!) so if it works, i'd be inclined to leave it. fwiw, my DS was still having 4 feeds a day at 12 months (excluding overnight feeds) - he'd settled into a morning & bedtime feed and then a feed before both of his naps. he's now 16 months & still does the same.

Sounds like it's all good as is
DS was on 7-8 feeds still at that age

As PPs have said, I would only change things round if you are wanting to wean soon or if your DS isn't eating much. If you were having issues getting your DS to eat a variety of foods then I'd offer milk after food, but if he's a "good" eater then I too would leave things be!
Congratulations for making the 12 month mark! Wishing you more happy BF days ahead
