i am almost 37 weeks with my second child, my first was a c section because he was breech.
this one is head down but has a few problems and i feel that a c section is the best thing, i was just wondering if anyone has had 2 or more and how the second time was??
like with pain and recovery????
First emergency under GA .. very sore, took so long to heal, but not unbearable.
Second "planned" with epidural .. GREAT!! It was not nearly as sore as my first, I was able to drive in less than a week (shh don't tell my OB ) But overall ... I loved it. My scar was a bit more itchy than what I remember with my first one. Also the first one had staples and this one had stiches, and I found the stiches stings WAAAAYYY less when you get up from bed ect.
I had two.
I first was an emergency c-section during labor. I had an epi in. It was fine recoverywise.
The second was planned and they put in a spinal. It took them 45min to get the spinal in and then I had HORRIBLE back pain. They sent me for a MRI but it all looked fine. It took me much longer to recover fom the second one.
I don't think you can really know how well you will or wont heal. There are so many things that can happen to chnge the outcome.
The immediate recovery from the 2nd one was much better than the 1st - my body knew what to expect with pain and I was much better at taking my drugs than I was the first time around.
However- I contracted an infection in my uterus the 2nd time - so that laid me up for about a month, I was really quite sick - but if it hadn't been for that, my actual recovery would have been awesome
I have had 3 c/s. I recovered even faster with my 2nd as I knew what to expect. Just remember to get out of bed quickly (withint a decent time frame) with my 2nd I didn't get out bed for over 12 hours, 2nd was 11 hours exactly but 3rd 5 hours. deep breaths when walking and walk tall..

oh and a tip from my last c/s. When I was in recovery the nurse sat me semi upright and gave me the oxygen, It helped to get the drugs (epi/spinal) out of my system faster. I think that helped a lot
