    Question Babywearing after c/s

I know they say wait 6 weeks, but just wondering what other bb members have done? Have you waited the 6 weeks before using a baby sling/wrap/carrier or did you just try it out when you felt ready? Does it matter what type you use (we have an infantino carrier, which is a bit like the baby bjorn ones)?

I used my Jazsling in hossy 3 days post c/s
The jazsling is more of the sling type though.
The biggest problem was getting her in it and i had Mum hep me.

I didnt know of a 6 week recommedation, and wouldnt have listened purely cos i would be carrying her anyway, with or without a sling...
Is the recommendation re the c/s or baby actually going in the sling?

    Congratulations, jazz is beautiful BTW

    thanks!

I think its about not putting too much stress on the scar, same as why you aren't supposed to pick bub up from below knee height and not supposed to carry washing basket etc, though I am doing both now anyway so I figure it should be ok to wear her?

i didnt pick up washing baskets - mum came over every second day for the first 3 weeks so she did it... the i got DH to hang the washing as our line is too high.
but i picked molly jane up from low.
if it caused pain i would stop and if i was sore at night i would take the next day easier.

Yeah, I just took each day as it came. I picked DD up all the time and had her in a jazsling (snap sammiejane) quite early on. Just do what feels right for you.

Oh me too with the Jazsling!

But I also used my ergo, and that buckles round the waist. I was told not to lift anything heavier that DS, and I figured using the sling was easier than my arms... As long as it was confortable, and didnt pull the scar area. That was from about a week after surgery...

    Hi Leasha,
I carried my son (3rd c/s)after one week in a Baba Sling. I didn't carry him for long, but I did.
My dd I carried after 2 weeks (2nd c/s) quite regulary and for longer periods.

I guess it all depends on how heavy bubby is and on how comfortable/safe you feel about it.

Good luck and Congratulations to your bundle of joy

I think i had mine on about 5 days after my 2nd baby was born. I wouldnt recommend this cos Im just crazy and over do things constantly. I was right as rain at about 2 weeks.

I think DS was around 4 weeks old before I put him in the hug a bub. Have only used it a couple of times though, I seem to have problems tying it tight enough, but DH doesn't!

I'm pretty sure DS was only 1-2 weeks old when I started using the sling! I took things one day at a time and just took it easy if I was sore at all.

I had Jasmine in a sling a week or tow after she was born. It was getting her in there that was the problem!LOL
