    Dumb question about my show.....

I had a planned c/s at 34w, and you guys know. Although I had pre term labour scares (28w and 31w) I never had a show.

Sounds kind of dumb, but what happened to it???
Did it just come out when I was bleeding afterwards, or what??

    Pure curiosty...

Hey yeah! I had an elective c-section at 40 weeks and never had a show. I certainly don't recall seeing it post section. Good question!

I have not had a CS, but I would think that with all the bleeding it would come out with that and be red so possibly look like a clot. I really have no idea though, hope someone else can help.

I have been passing a show the last 24 hours. This is my 5th baby, I never had a show at all with any of the others.

Maybe it comes out afterwards. But am I right in saying that the Ob will manually open the cervix if it's not dilated any when you have a planned section??? (anyone medical feel free to come in and clarify) If so, perhaps it's removed then by the ob performing the op?

I "think" they sort of clean up everything during a c/s so maybe that is where it ends up or else as someone mentioned as part of lochia after the birth. I never had one with DD who was induced at 11 days overdue and then a c/s and with DS I had a show at around 4 days overdue and he was born at 14 days via c/s!

The cervix needs to have an opening for the lochia to pass. And I guess with some elective cs the cervix is still tightly closed at the time. I'm sure on my cs notes it says the ob opened my cervix.
