    CS at John Flynn?

Just wondering if anyone has had a CS at John Flynn? I am interested to find out what their policies are about holding the baby after birth etc etc.

I've had two there now. The first was an emergency and the second planned. It's a very baby friendly hospital and you have the baby with you in recovery (BFing if that's what you intend on doing) straight away, skin to skin, regardless of the type of CS. They only take the baby elsewhere if there is a problem of some sort and it needs extra care. Partners stay with you in recovery also. Then you all go up to your room together.

Dad is very much involved and allowed to cut the cord, be there during measuring etc, and bring the baby over to you while they stitch you up. You can even hold them then, high up on your chest, though I had the anaesthetic shakes and couldn't at that stage.
