TB - It was the anaesthetist who was banging on about hospital policy. Our IM talked to someone else - i think the Nursing Director of the Birth Suite - who OK'd it. For me, it was essential DH go with bub whilst our IM stay with me.
You know I think you should be discussing breech VB........ I'd ask for a 2nd opinion on that, though it will ultimately depend on who's on call at the time.
Otherwise, use it as a negotiating point: If I cant have a VB, then I need 2 people with me in OT. But really, if bub is frank breech, they should give you a go at VB.
If you think you really will end up with a c/s, start writing your alternative birth plan now to take to your next meeting (immediate skin to skin, baby with you in recovery, no weighing until after 1st feed, express colostrum leading up to feed bub if can't BF straight away, no formula etc)
