I had a C-section about 5 weeks ago and i have the numbness in my groin and just above the scar. I even still have pain and like a pulling sensation. Is this all normal? This is my first C-section so i have no idea.
But my major concern is the weeing ( not pooing) issue i have (TMI)..
I understood in hospital i did not have any feeling in my lower region at all and did not have an urge to go to the toilet. The Nurse said it was nortmal after a c-section. But still to this day i have no urge to wee at all.
I drink a load of water plus teas (maybe 10 glasses a day) and still i can go all day and night without needing to pass urine.
eg: I went at 8.00pm one night and did not need to go, (but went cause i thought i should) at 6.00pm the following evening. Is this still normal? (I am not kidding here....)
I see my Ob's in a few weeks but maybe it shold be seen to now? What do you think ?
Im not sure how long it's spose to last, I had my first Csection this year also. You need to keep in mind that because you've had a catheder bag it takes a while for your bladder to be able to do it on it's own again, sort of like it's lazy kwim. But for me not peeing properly only lasted a week or so. Not pooing lasted about a week and a half..
I think that is your concerned you might want to just ask your GP... It cant hurt to find out from them... I've never had a C/c but i can go a long time without peeing also... I can go all day and night and still not need to... Maybe you need to start making yourself go regularly so your body gets used to going more often
I don't think this is normal at all, I think you should bring this up with your GP. Reason being because the kidneys are a such a sensitive organ and you really don't want to muck around with them!
Almost 24 hours does seem like a very long time to not need to wee for.
After my pregnancies I remember being freaked out by how long I went between wees - I put it down to my bladder having some space for a change.
It's certainly worth mentioning to a care provider before your ob check-up. Can you ring your ob and ask him/her about it? Or pop into your GP?
If you're concerned I would bring it up with your GP. I never had a problem with the sensation that I needed to wee, just had trouble doing it after my c-section.
