    Owwie c sec scar ...

My scar is 4months old, but yet, since af started I have intense burning ripping pain ..

    Is this normal?

Panadol and nurofen just aren't cutting it.

Definitely go see your GP, that doesn't sound comfortable or normal.

I don't recall having any pain when AF showed. Please go to the Dr

I should add its only when AF is actually here...

Put it this way, I want a hysterectomy, but they won't do it at my age ...

Is it constant or on and off/when you move or something?

yes, yes I know exactly what you mean!
    .
I had horrific pain, lying on the floor writhing in agony, taking 2 panadeine extras, that didnt even touch it. (started at around 3 months post cs,)

I used to get mine around ovulation time, then day before and day of AF, my scar would feel like it was going bust open and be red, sore to touch and inflamed.
I went to see a doc about it, was told to stop BFing and go on the pill....never went back to see her again. I kept BFing and didnt go on the pill, I basically just dealt with it until it finally seemed to subside a bit.
I still occasionally get it, more so around O time.
My doc and I are about to start investigating what/why...I have also been TTC for 2 years now with no success, Doc thinks it could be Endo (a common occurrance after CS she says, all the scar tissue and adhesions etc) we will find out soon enough.
I hope you can find out what is causing it soon.
    Good luck x

A fair few women have the occasional c-sect scar pain during periods, this is associated with changes in hormonal levels after pregnancy and nothing to worry about apparently. Scar tissue certainly doesn't help either.

I have had an ultrasound and have massive tissue scarring but no sign of infection.

Basically the doctor at the ED isn't too concerned about it and says I will get pain because as my uterus is contracting during a period, so will the scar, and with the pain they told me to take tramadol with severe pain and nurofen and panadol with moderate pain. And recommended the pill or another contraception to lighten my perods and regulate them. (i started it 2 days ago...)

I will be going to my GP just to confirm this diagnosis, because with the difficulty it took to concieve DD, I dont want it getting any worse and affecting my chances of having more kiddies in the future.

    Thanks for everyone's input.
I'm feeling slightly better I'm hoping its not just the nurofen and tramadol still in effect. (but probably is lol)

Thanks for letting us know. I hope the pill helps out but still a pretty annoying thing to happen. FX it gets better.

I wonder whether you can do anything to break down the scar tissue a little? Like ultrasound or massage? I hope the pain eases for you & it doesn't affect ttc in the future. x

Sorry to hear that it's been so painful for you. I didn't seem to have anything like that after my two c.s. Not sure if acupuncture would help things? It's good at reducing inflamation and may help get your body back into balance again (?) Hope it improves soon
