Hi Bertie,
I got a bikini wax for both my c-sections....
Hi everyone,
I'm booked in for an elective C/S (due to complications before and after an emergency C/S first time round) and was just wondering - for those of you who have had electives - did you shave before going to hospital? I'd rather shave myself than have the midwives do it; in fact I was going to use some hair removal cream, as my first C/S scar is quite a deep crease so I'm not sure how shaving would get right in there IYKWIM...
What did other people do?
Thanks, Bertie

Nope I just left mie up to the midwives.. I wasn't able to see down that way anyways by then
good luck
I did a little tidy up (well DH did it for me) but the middies shaved me up the top anyway, cos we didn't know how far down they wanted it.
I did it mostly myself in the shower before we went in as my scar was quite big and i didn't think i could stand anyone else touching it. had have dh hold the mirror though as theres no way i could see it normally! Wouldn't let him near me though as i got him to "tidy me up" before going in for induction with Oscar and i nearly ended up bald so theres no way he's coming neare me with razors or sizzors again!

The midwives did mine. I couldn't see to do mine either.
If you shave yourself it is one job less for us to do. But we will still want to look to make sure that you have shaved far enough down.
This has been an interresting thread to read. I did not even consider the need to shave when I had my Elective CS. And I can't remember the midwives doing any shaving. Is everyones scar below their hair line? I have a low transverse scar but it is about an inch above my hairline. I guess I must be a weirdo and have a low hairline hey.
