Does car insurance cover change when you are pregnant?

My brother recently told me that a friend of his had to make a claim when she was driving her car, pregnant. Apparently this changed their policy and she wasn't covered for the damages because it changes if the driver is pregnant. Something to do with "not supposed' to be driving whilst pregnant or some rubbish.

Does anybody know anything about this? sounds weird to me...

I had an insurance claim, I was driving whilst pregnant. Was not an issue with my policy.

I could see that it would be if directly advised by a health professional to not drive, in that case, the insurance company could have grounds to reject the claim.

Thanks Astrid. No, she wasn't told not to drive for any reason. Hmmm, maybe my brother just got the story mixed up...

ETA: Just did some googling and turns out that you are covered. Only not covered if you are deemed unfit to drive like you have said Astrid

The only thing is your diminished strength after a c-section which is why the dr say don't drive. There is nothing in any insurance policy that says don't drive when pregnant.
