I know 3 people with the Q7 and they all rave about it. I wanted DH to think about getting one when no. 3 was on the way but we managed to fit three car seats in the back of our car. I think it is a very styly 7 seater-
my BIL has one and loves it but doesnt have any small kids- he is in the car industry so i assume that if it was no good he would have got rid of it, but he has now had it for a couple of years which is a record for him lol
sorry i cant be anymore help
I absolutely love the look of it (saw it in a car park not so long ago and fell in love it). I'm scared to look further into it as it loos pretty $$$$$ to me......
I loved the X5. We had the sports model which had 'sports mode' so if you felt like being a bit 'sporty' it performed better (as in it can move off the lights insane speeds). I had an auto with tiptronic gears so you can pick your gear if you feel so inclined.
It was 4WD enough to go off-road if we wanted - not serious 4WDing but it was fine for a sprint up the beach or rough tracks and in the snow it handled beautifully.
My main criticism would be that it didn't have enough lumbar support for my tastes and on long road trips I always needed to remember a pillow or after about 3 hours my back hurt. I am very sway backed so that mightn't be an issue for lots of people.
The iDrive system isn't really very intuitive but you adapt.
I have no idea what BMW was thinking with the X6. It's not 4WD enough to climb a grassy knoll but it's too 4WD to handle really well on the road - it's like the worst of both worlds. I always feel kind of sorry for people who bought them.
With twins on the way we will need a 7 seated, are considering X5, Q7, Volvo CX90 (hope I have that right but the 7 seater, Land Rover Discovery and so far that's all I've come up with.
I didn't want something that felt like a bus and I've been advised that it's best to go for a car where the third row of seats can fold down one at a time instead of the whole row. I'm conscious of the fact I'll need to be able to fit a double pram in (prob a bugaboo donkey).
Does anyone have any advice, experiences or thoughts?
We have a Honda mdx - 7 seater! Love love love it. Also check out Toyota kluger grande. Nissan make a great 7 seater and so does Mercedes . I actually found a wagon was better when we had twins . We went to a 7 seater due to size of kids growing and needing to cart 6 people around . You will struggle with the fact that you need to get a twin pram in with 7 seats up. My back row is individual split and my single pram fits when one back row is being used but I have to take a stroller if I need to use all 7 seats! Good luck xxx
In Jersey, where I am at the moment, they are as common as muck! LIke Cassius, I wish I could just send one home...they're much cheaper! I've not driven one, but I do have an Audi A3 Turbo Diesel and it FLIES! I could have a Q7....yes please!
Very envious of 7str buyers with a bigger budget than me :lol looks like im going to end up with an Avensis, though they do have every feature we are looking for so i shouldn't`t whinge. I still lust aft er the space in a Grand Carnival, but after having a friends for 4 weeks while they were away i seemed to be at the fuel pump allllll the time.
