Just caught the tail end of a VW commercial, and the driver had her hands off the wheel and the car was parking itself?!?!?!?!

Seriously?

The guy at the end of the ad said it all, well **** me!

I remember seeing something (maybe top gear) about some cars can parallel park themselves.

It's called park assist, all you have to do is control the brake & accelerator & the car does it through cameras & other technical stuff It's an option on Golfs & most of the other VW passenger cars, shame my van is technically a commercial vehicle cos that would be cool.

(DH is a huuuge VW fan & runs a club in Sydney, he's knows his VW stuff LOL)

Yeah there was a car on Oprah, ages ago, maybe 2 years, that they demonstrated could park itself! Sensors and stuff, but I don't think I'd trust it!

I just saw that ad and wondered if that was for real, wow I didnt know you could get a clever car like that. I so need one, I don't parallel park these days.

Yep!! DH has a VW Tiguan and it does it. Quite freaky to watch actually! It uses the parking sensors to work out whether the space is big enough then you just press the accelerator and it spins the wheel itself!

I saw that too, definitely on my wish list for my next car! That was a really good ad, it definitely caught my attention.
