Crud. We're moving OS very soon and we need to sell our car. We've advertised below its value and advised it's a 'moving OS' sale but still very little interest.
If push comes to shove and we HAVE to get rid of it what can we do? Do we take it to a second hand caryard and they'll buy it off us?

You can go to a car yard - don't expect the upper end of your car's worth though.
Was also going to suggest Ebay. xx
Ebay, Local paper,
Yes car yards will buy them, VERY under priced.
i agree with sunshine many cars move through quickly..
also if you have a main rd near you stick it out there with a extremely colourful sign on it
yeah a car yard will buy it but they will rip you if they can and see you need it sold..
what car is it?
We did Ebay for a silly blokey car too - but beware of not legit buyers if you have a tight time line - also car sales dot com for an old runabout/first car. I looked at ads on both sites and priced accordingly - luckily the cars were not worth much so we didn't have anything to lose ITMS....
It's a 2001 Mitsubishi Magna SW. We bought it for $6K in May so I hate to lose a lot on it. We've pid for a $60 ad on carsales already and we get the scammer messages or half-hearted "will you sell for $4?". We've advertised it at $5K which is below similar cars but maybe we should just take the next $4K offer if we get one. Damn.
pitty u have to ell it so soon......
id go ebay or carsales....
Good news! My aunty is buying it off us for $5K! We'll drive it till the day we leave, take it to her place (closer to the airport) then catch a cab from there. So perfect!
So glad to have the carsales addown- the scammer SMSs and emails are annoying!
Oh thats great !! congrats hun...
I only just saw this thread now, and was going to suggest ebay or carsales, but well done for selling it for not too little.
I just wanted to say, if anyone is interested, that car yards buy cars 'so cheap', because they only pay what it is worth wholesale. For example, Meow, you paid $5k for your car, but wholesale, it may only be worth $3-4k. And also, if you park your car on council land for the purpose of selling it (like those super high visibility car parks that are everywhere), then you may get a parking ticket, as you're not allowed to do that.
Like I said, if anyone's interested.
We had a bunch of pictures with the ad, thanks though. Glad yours sold quickly![]()
