[ADVICE] I didn't die, but there's a big bulge on my tyre ... ?
Ok, the other day there was some rain over night, the roads were slippery, and while I drove to the station (as I do every day) and going straight at a round about (which I also go around every day) the car spun completely out of control.
I narrowly missed smashing head first into a car going the other way, I smashed up the curb on the other side and a little bit up the embankment, I spun back onto the other side of the road again (thankfully there were no more cars coming) and then back over the other way ... not sure how many times, but I got the car under control, drove to the station, went to work.
Had a minor freak out when I got to work and called DH to tell him what happened.
Got him to check out the tyres this morning, to see if there's something wrong with the tread or whatever ... I'm a bit of a nana driver, and the whole spinning out of control and almost dying and killing someone didn't sit well with me ...
Anyway, DH comes in and tells me there's a huge bumpy lumpy thing on the side of tyre.
I suspect it's from the whole smashing into the curb thing... I'm guessing that isn't super for tyres.
Can I fix it?
Is it ok?

: typo ...
It sounds like you've weakened the tyre wall and it's created the bulge because of the air pressure. You will need a new tyre and I'd also have the rims checked to make sure you haven't bent one.
What the other people said.
Put your spare on, get the tyre replaced and your wheels checked. After DH had a bingle in my car the wheel alignment was off so you might want to get your wheel alignment checked so you don't need to replace all your other tryes prematurely.
The tyre is de-laminating. Sometimes it happens on the sidewall, most often on the tread section. I have had this happen to a spare in the boot! Don't drive on it, worst case it can blow, best it will just vibrate. It can not be repaired. Let me know if you need a tyre shop, I will probably be able to give ypu details of some decent places, depending on whereabouts in Melbourne you are.
