Making 2012 the year to get my licence!!! Who else doesn't drive....yet!?

OK. so im very almost 30 and i dont drive, never had a lesson, been behind the wheel a hand full of times with parents as a teenager or a few times with DH.
IM LEARNING TO DRIVE THIS YEAR. it was my 2011 new years resolution, and i did nothing about it! So this year im doing it!

I have one month to be ready for my theory test, so im going to start learning!

    Anyone else with me???

    ME!!!

I dont have my license but am hoping to have atleast my L's by the end of the year.

I'm not too bothered that i don't drive, sure at times it would be handy but no where a bus cant get me or my mum/friends. My mum didn't start driving until she was 25 so im not worried. I might feel bad if by then im not driving.

ME! But probably not until later in the year. I got my learners 3 years ago (it expires in march) after everyone pushing me and promising to give me lessons etc. and it never happened everyone was always busy. My dad taught my little sister and step sisters to drive but still flat out refuses to teach me. We bought an auto so it was easy for me to drive but by that time (late last year) I had made myself scared of getting behind the wheel. I have never driven. But with 3 kids and not living within walking distance to town and no public transport near by i have to learn! Hope to have my P's by my birthday (november)

it hasnt bothered me till now. with dd1 starting to do classes and things (swimming etc) it would be easier to do more fun stuff with a car. till now i have got by no problem with buses etc. and now dh is working more i need it really!

hope im not one of those who ends up doing their test 10 times!!

SIL recently got her licence, at 35. She had four goes at it. I'm sure you won't need 10 tries (but if you do, let me know before you get in the car and I'll make sure I'm nowhere near, lol!)

Also, DH only has an auto licence (so do I) and has been told he'll need a manual one to drive the work cars, so he's gotta learn again too!

i dont HAVE to do the hours, because im over 25 or 28 or something. i will NEED to do them though but i dont have to do the log book thingo. id like to think that once i got a car i would only use it for things i couldnt do by walking etc. DH will drive to the shop on the corner, its literally a two minute walk!

did you read the book over and over to do the theory test or did you do the tests on the internet? was it really easy to pass?

There are practice tests on the RTA site that's how my hubby studied for his truck license. You should read the book then do a test and you can check back with the book. Once you master that go for real! Good luck!

I did a few practice tests on the net and then went for it. I felt confident and I got it

    It's my new years resolution.
Also, we're getting a brand spanking new girly company car, that *I* get to drive.
Thought it should be motivation enough.
I have had my L's for 6 years this coming Valentine's Day.
