Anyone here have either of these cars?

We need the 7 seats. Looking at the turbo diesel, auto ones

Not after a brand new one but found a 2010 we liked


What do you like or hate about the car please

We will have one child in a car seat/booster

School,run usually means I have 7 people in the car so how squishy would it end up being

Hi Nic. We have just brought a 2012 Kia Sorento and there are things I love and don't like about it.
LOVE
- runs on the smell of an oily rag
- comfortable
- roomy (3rd row is only suitable for kids)
- fits cars seats easily
- a very easy & nice car to drive
- turns on a pin head
- don't get the tip over feeling when going around round-a-bouts etc
- easy to park
- good looking car
- 3rd row seat is 50/50 split which is really helpful for extra boot space
- Side mirrors are huge so you have good views
- FANTASTIC safety features!!!!
- Great features for the $$

DONT LIKES
- The boot space is small (compared to my commodore station wagon). I can't fit my umbrella fold up stroller long ways. I have to lay it side ways along the width of the car and I struggle to fit it in when I have the back seats up. I'm not sure how we are going to go packing to go away. I can fit my phil & ted pram in but takes up nearly half the boot and if I have one of the back seats up I have to sit it on it's side for it to fit.
- It has a massive blind spot at the back either side of the rear window.

It does sound a bit ute like. In other words you can hear it's a diesel if that makes sense. That doesn't worry me but thought I'd mention it.

Overall I love my car.

I did look at the Sante Fe as well and it is smaller all over (not hugely so but definitely noticable). Plus it didn't have anywhere near the same features as the Kia and it cost more.

I love my 2010 Santa Fe, we have three seats across the middle but put one in the back when there are 7 of us in the car, there isn't a lot of boot space with all seats up but it's easy enought to fold one back down to give more room if there are 6 people. We have a V6 2.3l petrol so it's does cost a lot to fill up so the diesel would be more economical.

Liv, may I ask, you couldn't put 4 car seats in the Sorrento could you, I assume they wouldn't go in the back row. I love the Sorrentos!

I have a Santa Fe, love love love it, can't remember what year but the only downside is boot space, with the 7 seats, it is pretty limited.

DD the 3rd row doesn't have baby bolts and by law you aren't allowed to put a car seat in the 3rd row that requires a baby bolt. You can put on the boosters in it though. I currently have a g/f kid here so I have a rear facing safe & sound, 2 x Maxi Riders AHR and a booster using a lap sash seat belt on of the back seats. Heaps of room for the kids and they love taking turns sitting in the boot, LOL!!
I would be hesitant to buy this car if you need to be using 4 car seats because you can't access the tumble seat if you have 3 car seats on the back seat so you have to lift the kids in and out of the boot to get them into the 3rd row seat - that make sense?
Plus you will have extremely limited space for a pram.

Thank Liv, that's what I thought - I would hate to think of lifting 4 kids up and in too. At least with a people mover the bigger girls can walk to their seats themselves. People movers just aren't as pretty!

Thanks for the replies.

Not too co corned about the boot space as we have the cruiser for when holidaying. The littler car would only be used for short trips away if not towing the camper.
