Paid Parental Leave - How long did it take for first payment to come through??
Just wondering out of curiosity (and trying to budget for the next month or so) how long did it take for your first PPL payment to come through...and what day of the week?
I completed the online claim form before Bubs was born, and then submitted the form at Medicare at the start of this week, and I am assuming it will take a 3 or 4 weeks before I recieve the first payment...
Only thing is, the hospital gave me an old "Newborn Claim" form that didn't have PPL as an option on it, but the lady at the Medicare/Family Assistance Office said that she will just make notes in the system, as this is happening a lot, and it will be fine.....guess I will see, but I have a feeling that it will hold things up!!
2 weeks from me submitting the form at CL to it being in my bank. I did the online part too about a week earlier, but I waited for her birth cert to reach me before taking the paper form in.
up to four weeks is still within the realms of normal at the moment - anything less than three weeks, you'll be asked to wait. at the three week mark, it can be investigated under some circumstances to try and speed up the processing, but four weeks is normal due to the impact of flood and cyclone processing. the processing staff are working late nights and weekends to try and catch up on all the delayed claims at the moment
