    FTB-B secondary income question

If I was working part-time and earning a really low amount each fortnight, and Shel was eligible for maximum PPP, which ends up being about $11,000 a year, does that come into play as a secondary income for the FTB-B assessment?

It is a taxable income, but I just can't work out if it is an assessable, 'earned' income? I keep going round in circles?

It doesn't say in the "Assessable Income" page...
    Examples of assessable income include:

    * deemed income from financial investments
    * gross income from earnings, including fringe benefits
    * employment income salary sacrificed into superannuation
    * net income from businesses, including farms
    * family trust distributions or dividends from private company shares
    * net income from rental property
    * total net losses from rental property
    * income from boarders and lodgers
    * deemed income on money in superannuation funds if you have reached age pension age
    * reportable superannuation contributions (salary sacrificed contributions)
    * non-Australian pensions and income
    * any income from sources outside Australia
    * income from income stream products, such as annuities, allocated products and superannuation pensions.

I'm a little slow tonight, are you askin if shells PPP would be used as income for end of the year purposes. As in your 50,000 (guessing) and shells 11,000 would mean that you would have a combined income of 61,000.

If so yes shells PPP is an income so to speak.

Bla I'm properly so off track here!

I'm work in childcare MN. We don't get paid that much considering we're looking after your pride and joys! Working full time I earn 1/5 less than that!!!

Last year wegot caught out at tax time because we didn't count the parenting payment i was getting as income, I think it's only $7000 a year though... That's what centerlink said....or maybe i miscalculated by $7000..

If you get the full payment it's around $11,000 - $424 a fortnight. But it's an amount over something between $4000-$5000, so that might be where you're thinking about $7000.
