Have the supplement amounts been changed?

This morning I rang Centrelink to notify that I don't need to lodge a tax return and was told an amount would go into my account on Thursday. I checked online and it's $900 less than last year. Our circumstances havn't changed, I really don't want to ring again as I'm sure someone here will be able to help me out .

    Regards,
    Dianne

I don't know but is it because your DS is 16 and/or working/no longer a fulltime student???

DS turned 16 in June last year and was receiving Youth Allowance, that's why I presumed it would be the same amount. I havn't done the 4yr old health check yet maybe it's something to do with that.

I just found a link in one of BG's threads and it says $726 per child which would make my payment $200 short.

Could you have had a FTB debt - from underestimating income?

I did my estimate online and used the amount that was showing as only income was from Centrelink.

if you have a child that turned four last financial year and you haven't had the health check (and you were supposed to) you would not get supplement for her

DS being on youth allowance = no supplement for him - he is no longer an ftb child so automatically you will be 726 (or near enough) less than last financial year

so take both of them out, it's 1450 less than last financial year (726 if it's only one of them).

with regards to the other (the difference between the 726 and the 900 you mentioned) could have been because you over estimated one of your payments more last year than this year so less ftb top up

Have the supplement amounts been changed?

Was just thinking the same thing! I don't think we did it but I also don't remember being told we had too. Is it too late to do it now to get the supplement? Or do those that didn't do it just miss out?
