Help please. What is a 16yo entitled to?
Can anyone tell me what a 16yo is entitled to from Centrelink?
Just left school without completing year 11.
Are they entitled to anything?
Would living away from home make a difference?
Any help would be muchly appreciated.

They would be entitled to Youth Allowance, my eldest left school a few years ago and received this. There is also a living away from home allowance too. All the best.

Do you know anything about a 6 month waiting period for youth allowance after leaving school?

Havn't heard of that, DS received his youth allowance straight away but that was four years ago. Your best bet would be to give Centrelink a call.

Youth allowance eligibility has changed a lot in the past year or two. Your best bet is to call up and discuss the situation directly with a youth allowance consultant.

It's all means tested on the parents income, my brother is 19 and was unemployed for 6 months and entitled to nothing.
