Baby Bonus Qu

I have been told it will be another couple of weeks before my Baby Bonus starts. Just wondering if my first payment will be 9 x weekly payment (if bub is 9 weeks) or will it be just the initial payment, and they will add on the payments at the end of the 6 months (or whenever the period finishes).

Add it onto the end as far as I'm aware, it is basically 6 months of payments from when you get your first payment I believe.

Yes I can confirm the same as I just checked mine this morning.
It is the initial payment of ~$880 then 13 x fortnightly installments of ~$380.

Hey HotI, just curious, when did you lodge your stuff? We still havent heard anything and I want to ring them but I really dont want to hear if its going to take longer at this point. :/

if it hasn't been at least 5 weeks since you lodged your forms, there isn't much that can be done. it's taking at least that amount of time

the first installment is around 877, paid 2 days after the claim is processed. there are 12 more payments of 377 after that, paid fortnightly after that date.

ftb will be backdated in a lump sum, but baby bonus isn't.

We sent it about 10 days after DS was born, but when i rang they said they didn't receive it until almost a month after he was born and there is a 5 - 6 week processing time.

When I lodged the claim the guy who I dealt with said it would be 2 weeks at most. But still waiting. Im not worried about waiting, but its the not knowing that is making me worried. Unfortunately we are the sort of people who will spend it without realising we have spent it (if that makes sense).

The person that said two weeks is very wrong. All current information is 35+ days. All staff should know that by now. It's been that way for several months.
