Sorry BG, Just a quick question. I know you're at home at the moment and I hope the ms is getting a little better.
When I filled in the form for child care rebate etc I selected to have it paid in a lump sum at the end of the yr and I thought this included the rebate, but my CH/C has said that I should get the rebate paid with it not been subject to our salaries. Would this be the case?

with the rebate, you have to contacct c'link direct as the system ws only updated to take annual payments last month
if you do it oncec, it will be annual until you change it

on the IVR / RVA it states payments will be made during the 3-18th december ...
that won't be the Child Care rebate - that will be the "$1000 per child" payment...
i mysteriously have some money in my account today so i thought i would pop in here to see if the rebate was due and yep i guess thats where it came from. wont know for sure til tomorrow when the details come up on my statement. very nice, especially cause it was unexpected.

there's no "order" to processing - they only do a certain number in each state on each day otherwise the banks go into meltdown and won't process all the payments!
I was lucky enough to get mine straight away. I think it went in on tuesday.
I have to agree with the online system - its very handy to use if you need to update income details and see when next payment is coming. Beats ringing up the overworked and understaffed call centre and waiting ages for a rep to talk to you.
Checked my online account today and we're getting paid on Tuesday! :) Also has a handy new little link off the childcare section of your login where you can access the 1st quarter payment info. It opens a little table which has how much you've paid in fees to your daycare centre, how much (if any) CCB deductions you've received and then how much you've received in CCQ (I think that's what the payment was called). :)
BG - Can I ask something?
We pay huge fees being in a daycare centre fulltime in the centre of Sydney so I figured we'd get paid the full $7,500 for the year split across four even payments. I was suprised to find we got paid exactly 50% of our fees paid so far in our 1st quarter which is far more than a quarter of the $7,500 per annum it's capped at per child.
Does that mean by the time we get into the third quarter (ie. April 2009) and we hit the 'cap' of $7,500, that we won't receive anything come the final quarter?
that's exactly how it will work Becka - it couldn't be worked so that it was divided into four portions seeing the fact that people might use more now and be disadvantaged in a later quarter, so it's just an annual amount that, if you reach it by Christmas, that's it until next financial year
Cool...thanks BG, I figured that might be the case and in retrospect I can see how the four even payments might just throw too much of a spanner in the works. Guess I'd better behave myself now! *L*
LOL Becka... I have to update my registration apparently & have no idea how to work out the website... alas I just updated our income as it will change in a few weeks. Sucks, our rent is going up $200 a week and because we will be earning $5000 more a year we will miss out on around $30 a week. Must just push us over some limit somewhere, we still don't hit 6 figures combined though, so I fell lucky to get anything!

Mine says it is due on Tuesday 28th so I assume they processing in batches and putting a certain amount of rebates through each day?
I am going to go and do my online rego now. My 50% hasn't come yet despite me checking twice a day LOL

Mine was on the front page as soon as I logged in. It said "Last Payment $xxx Tuesday 28th October"
Mine did that too but it was the one I got in August. I want to find out where you go to find out when this next payment is coming.
all payments are processed two working days before they go in your bank - soooooooooo Nai can see hers as it was processed by FAO yesterday. Mrsmac, if you're not seeing anything, it means it hasn't been processed yet and won't show on your account until it has been.
I registered too, and mine hasn't been processed yet either. I hope I get it in the next couple of weeks!

I logged into ours and the last date was the 6th november - with payment being $0.00.
So does this mean that we aren't going to receive the rebate?
that would be your regular fortnight FTB payment showing up - if you're current but at nil rate (so ftb is on your file, but you don't get anything in the bank each fortnight kwim?)
the child care rebate will show up a maximum of two working days before you receive it...
I finally have something showing on my FAO online services home page. :) I'm apparently getting paid on the 31st. Is anyone else still waiting? I'm wondering if I was in fact one of the last to get paid. :P
from what i've read sushee some people won't be paid for anything up to three months... so no, i doubt you're in the last lot!

i'm impressed with how many of you are checking this stuff online - we have a huge push at work to encourage self service use - it's nice to see it acctually CAN be used successfully!
I've used the self-service thingo for ages! It always let me know ahead of time if I'm getting paid anything. Also can do most of the stuff I need to on there, like change my income estimates. I love it!
it's frustrating how many people are petrified of using it sushee!!
i think i should have woken up that the people on BB are net-savvy though, so it wouldn't phase most of you to do your own thing on the net...

You're not the last Sush. Nothing showing for me still. I just have an awful feeling I won't get the money anytime soon. Which is annoying because I was expecting the $8000 odd from last year's CCTR and won't be getting it anytime soon due to a flag being changed for some reason no-one can quite explain and apparently can't be changed retrospectively once the tax year ends. So now I'm going to be owed around $10k, some of which would be really handy before our holiday in December but which we won't probably see until we get back. *sigh* Oh well, I guess someone has to be last.
