MR - did they tell you what they have to fix in retrospect?? is it the fact that you qualified for CCTR? if that is the only drama, and somone hasn't fixed it already, they need to be slapped for not doing their job - it can be backdated to the start of the last financial year - it's only prior to that we can't do over the phone and needs to be actioned by the local centrelink office

BG, it's the flag that says whether or not the tax returns need to be done before we get the CCTR. Last year we got the payment without tax returns and apparently this year we can't (even though there will no adjustment to FTB or CCB). I have been told by the FAO girl at the Medicare office (who didn't seem to know much), and also by an operator over the phone that it can't be changed now.
ahh okies - so that makes sense for last year - it's been coded "end of year" which means it waits for tax return, rather than "minimum rate only" - which would automatically generate no matter what
that doesn't explain this quarter though - it should automatically flag across for CCQ unless you contacted after Sept 20 to ask them to do it annually...
No I definitely didn't do that! But maybe it got changed automatically like happened last year. I think I'd better call them again. It would be nice to get some of the money!
it's definitely something worth checkcing - they're flat out though so be prepared for a wait
just tell them you want to make sure it's not been set to pay at the end of the year seeing last year was done without your knowledge and you'd like to ensure you get your payment asap...

I was told yesterday that mine was no where near being entered into the system so I should expect at least another month.... *groan*

i think it's a crock for anyone to say "no where near being entered in the system"! we can't see where in the queue your usage statement lays - it might be top of the pile - how rude for someone to say that to you!

what centre do you use?
I use ABC and I spoke to my director and she said they are all sent in via QLD and they are still on the old manual system so will be sending through end oct..
next finacial year all centre will be on the auto system so wont be waiting as long
Yay i finally had something on my front page today! mine is getting paid on Monday.
we were in a private new centre which uses the new ccms (but have had massive issues with it though)
i'm with a little CC centre that is fairly new not ABC they went to the new system a couple of months ago ( we had all the teething problems too )

BG I thought so too, but I said "its all good" I know they must be getting hounded. I was phoning about moving and all the other stuff we are having to change and just asked as an aside. Its good though, not getting my hopes up for it happening too soon ;)
I'm another QLDer and I got mine yesterday. My centre is using the new system as well.

still nothing for me either.. we use a private centre who are using the ccms system.
I called and updated details with FAO yesterday and almost ended up in tears.. the guy i spoke to was so rude, he told me it was a pain having to update details so i can claim my FTA.. as it was only going to be a couple of dollars anyway, he thought i should just wait until the end of the financial year.. he then proceeded to tell me how he thought that the govt is doing the wrong thing by giving away money ( $1000 ) to people, he also thought that on my family income i shouldnt get it.. although i am entilited to it.. we are under the cut off by $1500.. i asked to speak to his supervisor, and I told the supervisor that i wanted to make a formal complaint.. i was just so cross... i will following up my verbal complaint today with a written complaint.. people like him just shouldnt work in call centres, he had no customer service at all.. and as far as telling me that updating my details was a pain, well.. thats just wrong.
sorry just had to rant about it.. not really the right place.. but didnt want to make a new post about it..
mrs T - will just let you know - if you weren't on fortnightly payments on Oct 14th, you may not get the $1000 payment in December anyway - it was based on the income estimate on that date - if you didn't qulalify on that date, you'll possibly have to wait until you do your tax
glad the processing is showing so many of you getting payments early next week. to those with ABC, they DO have a month to lodge usage statements, and then it might take extra time for processing - which i guess is where the "three months" comes into it. my understanding is that all centres will be transferred to CCMS (where usage is lodged electronically each week) by next financial year
We're not with ABC and our centre is also on the new weekly system. So fingers crossed then that it won't take 3 months for me!
I spoke to FAO earlier in the week and had been told that it would be another 3 months before I would receive anything because none of the information had been received. I chased up my day care centre and afterschool hours centre and both said they had lodged all information. Called back FAO and was told that all information had been received just have to wait. There was no time line on processing. I asked could I get it by the end of next month but was told they couldn't say and was no guarantee.
I am sure alot of ppl are in teh same boat. I went back to work full time because of the 50% CCTR. I knew that I could JUST afford full time day care and OHSC by the end of October because then I would have this money. Its almost like there was no point in getting Full-time work.
Its just so hard. And answers like just wait ... it will happen I am sorry just aren't good enough. I get told old system new system etc... don't know.. or yes everyone will be paid at the end of the month.. All garbage. It isnt like I sit on my bum and put my child into care just to have a break or for the minimium work hours. I work 40 hour weeks. Single parent two boys.
And I am allowed to say it just isn't fair and stomp my foot. Makes me feel good for a few seconds at least.

:hug: Myboys! I know how you feel hun. I was counting on the $8800 from last year in September and now I won't get it until mid next year and have to pay it straight off DH's tax debt. Then it was, well at least I'll get the $2000 for the first quarter before our holiday, but now maybe that won't happen either. And we aren't getting the $1000 per child as we don't get FTB so I'm feeling a little ripped off atm. Which isn't really fair, because while things are tight, we are getting by. And I know there are others who need it more. It would just be nice to have the pressure eased a little. Next year should be better as I will only have one in day care and the other in kindy (which is still costly in qld but definitely better than child care). We've just got to get there!
I'm also wondering what happens if it's January before you get your payment. Do you wait another three months for the second quarter payment?

Mel, you should do. Maternity leave qualifes as "work/study" for the work/study rule.
MR - I was thinking maybe we don't get it cos I think we pay the gap for our child care at the moment? Is that how it works? If you pay the gap only then you don't get the rebate?

yup - go check your online file mel - as long as you're listed as being on mat leave, you'll qualify. you can call today too seeing the PH is only in vic.
mel you get half that "gap" back if you qualify - which mat leave (either paid or unpaid) qulalifies you for. and working qualifies you too

tobily - the child care can't make any difference to when it's paid - they had to submit usage by oct 31 - after that, it's just a case of waiting for it to be processed - so they can say it was sent in on October 20 but it wn't give you a hint as to when you'll get paid cos that comes down to where they are in the queue of all Au child care centres
