i think FAO staff are more compassionate about it than if you overflow to youth or newstart, simply because it's an everyday thing for us
it's the same with ftb for new born - i always always say it will take up to an hour - is bub settled, is someone there to help you if need be - it's just respectful to the parent
Thats so sweet BG.. nothing worse than trying to hear someone on the phone with a screaming baby!!! (or a toddler who follows you from room to room when you are trying to escape from the screaming.. lol)
it's what i'd expect if i were on the phone - so why should anyone i'm talking to get any different treatment to what i myself expect
hey this might be a silly question but do you have to be working to qualify? I lost my job December last year as the business shut down and didn't bother looking for a new as I just found out I was pregnant and who would hire a pregnant women?
you have to meet the work study training test - so be enganged in work, actively looking for work (of which you'd need a record) volunteering (again, record), study or training. you can get exemptions for paid/unpaid mat leave or if you yourself have a disability or are caring for an adult or child with a disability
if you've finished work in december and received rebate between then and now, and it's fond that you werent meeting the test, you will end up with a debt to repay (sorry!)
No rebate paid except for 0607 year. bugger I wont get anything back I didn't pull DD out because I didn't want to lose her place at child care. Oh well I will hopefully be working soon going a little loopy at home :p
Mine is almost spent!!!! (sadly on bills though)
I just checked mine have been checking it when I can and it looks like I get the money tomorrow!
yay and I also just got paid my fortnightly payment too!!!
Just a question to all those who have been paid their quarterly CCR....did you contact centrelink to have it changed from annually to quarterly or was it automatically changed when the system changed.....The reason I ask is my children have only been in Childcare since late June this year and I received the CCR for the 07/08 financial year a week after lodging our tax returns. I did ring centrelink towards the end of September and the customer service rep said that everyone was changed to quarterly and that it included me, but she didn't look at my details or anything. I'm a bit confused and worried that I may have to wait until the end of this financial year. The money would sure come in handy!!!!
Thanks
Mine was changed automatically. But if you're not sure it wouldn't hurt to ring and check.
the whole system was changed to quarterly and new coding is required if you want an annual payment - so your account will have been updated and just pending the usage statements coming through and being processed from your provider
Woot!!! Mine is coming on the 10th!!! (Finally ;))
Yayyy.. I might not be the last BB person after all to get it!!!
Woo hoo Mel! I am so glad.
Just a question - we did our 07/08 child care rebate as part of our tax return. We received the payment in early spetember but it did not include the payments for our third child and did not include the payments for the second centre our eldest attends. I faxed them the usage details almost immediately and I am still waiting for the updated payment. Is it unusual to be waiting for over two months for the 07/08 payment? I am not desperate for the money (but I want to make sure it isnt sitting stagnant waiting for further info) and have have phoned them and they have told me it is progressing but not to hold my breath as these types of payment are not given priority. Is this normal?
Also we received our 1st quarter payment and this did not include the payment for the second centre my eldest attends so I phoned them and advsied them of this but was told it could takes months for this to be processed.
I have also told them I want to do it all as part of our tax return - but I am wondering if this is a good idea or am I better to leave the payments as quarterly - is one way better than the other?
BG - thanks for your advice/info on this topic - you make negotiating the fao process so much easier.
Grrrr. I've just received a letter saying we get $0 because we don't meet the work, training or study requirements when both DP and I work.
I'm sure I can get this rectified ... just ANOTHER hassle.
Geez, that was surprisingly easy. All done and I get my rebate in my bank on Tuesday. YAY!
Still waiting on mine. I was told that they had received all the paperwork its just a matter of processing it. Still nothing showing online either. I did ask do you think it will be soon and I was told they couldn't say but decided to say that I will be getting the Economic Relief payment soon so that should help. No I need it now... not in 4 - 6 weeks time and I don't think it will be gotten out in the 8/12 - 19/12 timeframe if they can't even get this one out when they are supposed to.
I just want to get my car repaired so I CAN go to work and provide for my kids... damn inefficiency..
Got to vent sometime!
I think it will be me who is the last...!
