Jemima - any lump sum claim that is done at the end of the year is processed after all current claims so it has no timeliness standard - it's not unusual, given there might be literally thousands, for them to just be processed when they can
with the rebate, it's entirely up to you if you want it paid quarterly or annually - if you leave it for annual payment, you'll just have to wait til usage statements are received as well as tax details for self and partner.
with the second carer that you're saying isn't listed on your daughters file, i would check with child care whether they are approved or registered. if approved, check if ccms (they report direct each week) - if not, you need to get their provider number and link to your file
We got the letter to say they had paid it....into an account no longer open
Called FAO up and they said 'Opps....it seems that one off payments the system detects old bank account details, but money paid often it detects the right bank account, call back in 3 days and we will resubmit the money as it should be returned to us by then'.
How can you screw up money,.....and why were old account details kept on the system anyhow!!! LOL
Thanks very much BG.
Surprised that FAO sent me a letter saying my payment was zero, I knew it would be. Oh well must look at getting some volunteering/study happening so I am entitled to the rebate.
prolly easier to send you something saying you've been assessed at zero than to have people calling to find out if they've been assessed Astrid....
Well I still don't have my Child Care Rebate. Called this morning and was told still being processed.
Also had my Child Care benefit cut off because the baby is 3 months overdue for his 6 month immunisation. I know I got the letter but didn't know there was a 4 week window you had to get it done. So until I get a docs letter stating he was been sick on and off (there is multiple doc visits) for the last 6 weeks. I have to pay full fees. And it doesn't get back dated!!! I wonder what is the whole point of working.
When I explained this to the lady at FAO she was so smug! I wish I had told her to show some empathy. I said everytime I had called in the last 4 weeks NO ONE had said that it was going to be stopped anytime soon. I asked for my child care rebate because there is no way I can afford full fees at child care without that money. She said still being processed just have to wait.
So here I was thinking I could get my car fixed with the money. But no it will go towards paying a fortnights worth of full fees.
I still reckon there is no way possible they will get out the money for the economic relief package in the time frame they have got. It has been said before that if they put out mass amounts of money the banks will go into meltdown. So anyone out there counting on that money before Christmas. Don't hold your breathe. IT will be just like the CCTR.
Maybe if I keep praying for some good luck it will rain down sooner than later!
I'm sorry you are still waiting. I hope it goes in soon to surprise you.
CCTR is HUGELY different to the economic stimulus payments! why bag something you don't understand? essentially, you get paid FTB every fortnight - your stimulus payment will go on with that - it is a one off payment that will be loaded onto the system in the week before the payments have to be generated. there is no additional information required - no tax returns, no usage statements. ask everyone that has a child with a disability and receive carer allowance. ask them about the payments they got in june - on the date they were supposed to. ask them then about the payment in July that most of them didn't realise they were getting - it went in with their FTB payments. it's all good for you to be frustrated about your situation - but don't bag something and say it won't happen when you have no idea how the system works. it's statements like that which get 50 more people up in arms, put them on the phones over a question that they don't NEED to ask and put people that truly need help in queues that simply shouldn't exist
it is NOT the responsibility of the person you speak to to check your child is up to date with immunisation - you received a letter, your GP is responsible for notifying the childhood immunisation register that your child is ill and has an approved catch up plan in place. FAO can't do that - there are rules in place for a reason - they can't be bent by FAO to help an individual. policy is in place for the employees - compassion doesn't mean they can break the rules. stating facts does not make someone smug. it's about interpretation
Hang on there briggy's girl...
Please tell me WHERE in my vent did I say I want the rules bent!!! WHERE??!! No where. The person I spoke to was extremly RUDE and very very very SMUG! I didn't ask for the rules to be bent. I asked why was I not told anything about my CCB being cut off soon everytime I called chasing up my CCTR. Not once was I told (which is what I found out today) that there is a 63 day grace period. I NEVER asked for rules to be bent. ALL I asked for was someone who was polite and could explain the situation to me. Like today I called FAO again and Spoke to a fantastic girl by the name of Joanne who was extremly helpful kind and very friendly and explained it FAR better then Miss Smug yesterday.
I received a letter today that says due to your family circumstances changing such and such is not eligible for CCB. Once again AMBIGIOUS statement. My online system says his immunisation is all up to date. The girl on the phone today was able to tell me all sorts of information with no prompting from me. She even went into my CCTR without me asking. All I called about was my CCB and my changes in income.
SO please please explain why I she was able to do that... But Miss from yesterday was EXTREMLY rude.
ONCe again I DID not ask for rules to be bent. I just asked for clearly understanding of how and why. NOt some smug lady being judgemental and rude.
I am sorry if you think my assumption that the economic package is going to be an issue. When someone is told on 5 seperate occasions from FAO that their CCTR is going to be paid out and then the date arrives and nothing happens. And then told that no statements have been received. Then another phone call told no all received by 5 OCtober. Then told it will be processed in 7 days. AND then told no .. no time line on processing just have to wait. I am sorry but you should be able to understand why someone would question the efficiency of an organisation when so many conflicting stories are told.
I was also told by a consultant last week that it would be unlikely I would receive the economic stimulus package by Christmas because the office is still so backlogged with CCTR. So I am sorry Briggys's Girl I am just working off from my own assumptions and information that has been given to me as well from FAO workers.
Once again I did not ASK for any rules to be BENT or someone to BREAK any rules. I just asked for a friendly person to talk to. Not someone who was not helpful.
So sorry if you totally misconstrued my frustrations. But I am sure I am not the only one who is desperately hanging by skin of their nails trying to do the best and waiting for money that maybe coming today or maybe coming next week or next month or maybe at some other date.
Woohoo my money is in...now that they have the right account!!
Was money i was expecting (or tbh knew about in the first place...LOL) so its a nice bonus!
no where in my post did i say that YOU asked for rules to be bent. i simply said that you received a letter, and from there, it is your responsibility to follow up. there is no way that anyone at FAO can change that. simple. if you want to take that as an attack - that is YOUR issue. i was simply stating fact. the same rules apply to everyone - whether your child is sick, or whether you have forgotten to have your child immunised. No one at FAO has delegation to over ride that. if the information isn't received, their hands are tied. the person today would have been able to source more info simply because you said you'd received a letter about child care - it triggers a different set of screens to be investigated. there are something like 5000 basic screens of information for every customer - as i'm sure you understand, not all are accessed on every call. when you have another 400 people waiting in the queue to talk to a consultant, going "above and beyond" isn't your main purpose - you're trying to help as many people with their initial enquiry as you can.
i dont' know who you were talking to that said that the economic stimulus payment wouldn't be received by Christmas - but i can assure you - given that a date has been set, it will be paid in the fortnight beginning December 8 and will be received on or by December 24. every payment generated by FAO takes two working days to land on your account at the bank (unless the bank processes early) - the only thing i can't say for sure is whether the first payment will be made ON december 8 or generated on december 8 paid on december 10. other payments will NOT be held up by the CCTR payments simply because they are generated on seperate systems
as to the CCTR payment - unfortunately there has NEVER been a guarantee it would be paid early - it was to START paying in October - but as i've mentioned before, it could be up to 3 months for processing. there is noone in FAO that can see exactly when that payment is going to arrive until it is generated - in exactly the same way that the ladies with online service access could see. it sucks that there isn't a one week window for everyone to receive their payments - but the logistics of processing usage statements makes it impossible for that to happen. it was NEVER going to be paid within 7 days of October 5 - no payments were made prior to October 20.
yesterdays consultant may have seemed smug - put yourself in her shoes - there has not been a day in the past 8 weeks when there has not been literally thousands of people asking the same questions, abusing consultants because they don't have their money - consultants are human. as much as it should be a case of "ok, that call is over, next person is a new person" stuff gets under their skin. they're tired, working essentially their normal job plus an extra one BECAUSE of this economic stimulus - it's hard work and surprisingly, FAO (and any other call centre) consultants are human...
im still waiting ! lol..
BUT i have finally done my tax so hopefuly ill get a FTA payment and CCB rebate or whatever im due etc from last financial year xoxo
Agggggh...I've received on CCTR payment for my eldest child who is in after school care every weekday but nothing yet for my 10 month old who is in an ABC centre in Brisbane 5 days a week. I've just emailed the centre to see if there's a holdup with them submitting information to Centrelink - and I think that's the case.
What a pain MrsR. I guess though it's better to have some than none. I hope the rest comes thought soon for you.
all ABC statements get lodged to head office, who then process and submit to centrelink - due to the mammoth number of ABC centres, it may be holding up the processing. the cc was supposed to have it to c'link by october 31 - it is possible that it's just taking time for the processing team to get it onto the system
there has been a change in processing system for probably have the child care centres in AU that now submit statements weekly - the aim is to have all centres on this system by July 1 so that hold ups like this don't happen...
wondering if some1 can help me out here.. must be the night feeds but i dont understand the criteria for CCB. (pretty sure i dont qualify for CCTR thats pretty plain that i need 2 work for that)
situation: hubby is on 55k pa and its a few dollars over the low income HCC threshold.. so no free kinder for us. I dont work. I recieve FTB A & B for the 2 kidlets.. DD goes to kinder/preschool.
