    New arrangements for CCR?? Anyone?

I've been hearing that apparently child care rebates will be paid more regularly? Fortnightly or even weekly? Is this true?
I preferred the quarterly payments but I guess it's not my decision
So can anyone please update me?
    TIA. Xoxox

Yes you can choose how it's paid, if you want it quarterly then just let them know that

YOu should have received a mailout regarding this if you are current on CCB. If you do nothing you remain on quarterly otherwise you have options such has paid fortnightly to you, paid fortnightly to your provider, there are a few others but I can't think of them off the top of my head. What you select is set for the year.

Oh thanks Meg, na I haven't received anything as yet, I'm guessing I'll have to ring them, when does this kick in though?

if you qualify for CCR, the letter was sent out a few weeks back - check your old mail,it will be in there

    your options are
annual (already available - gets processed once you do your tax)
quarterly (already available - paid october, january, april and when you do your taxes)
direct to you (paid whenever your centre puts usage statements in - usually weekly or fortnightly)
    direct to service provider

IF you opt for quarterly, you get 50% of your out of pocket costs every three months, the balance at tax time
if you opt for direct to you or direct to centre, 15% of your entitlement will be held back until tax time so that there is a buffer in case of overpayments (currently the final quarter is your buffer)
in this case, if your weekly fees are $100, you will end up paying $57.50 - the other $7.50 of your entitlement will be held til tax time reconcilliation

at this stage, whatever option you have in place as of july 4th (the first monday of the new financial year) is in place for the whole year

Thanks briggsy, yeah I am entitled to CCR, my ds is on carer's allowance so his entitled to 50 hrs at 100%, I think not quiet sure but I normally get it quarterly, but everyone is telling me it's changed. I haven't received anything so I might have to check my iL's mail just in case... Otherwise I'll just give them a call

quarterly is the default - if you're happy to leave it like that, you don't need to make any contact
if you want one of the other options, make the call - otherwise you don't need to do anything at all!

What you have already paid will come to you in the 50% rebate lump some.
An then from July the 1st if you arrange it to go to the centre from then on it would - and you'd get no lump sum

it only takes effect from July 4th - prior to that, it's under the current rules - you'll get your last quarter rebate at tax time

ETA - it's july 4 as that is the first week of the new year - they don't go from july 1 - it's the first monday of the new year so that the full week is under one set of rules
