School Start Bonus & Education Maintenance Allowance

I am little confused with this one. When DS1 started in Prep 2yrs ago, everyone got it.

I know the rules have change for the School Start Bonus. It appears you have to hold a centrelink concession card to eligible. Is that right?
I wasn't sure if you qualified for FTA or FTB if that was meeting the criteria as well?

That is right. only those holding either pension or health care card get the school start bonus. education maintenance allowance is also only for those holding those cards .

school start changed this year (for 2012) - it used to be for all prep and year 7 entries - now it aligns with the rules for EMA
check out the criteria on the vic department of education website

Yes that's correct, if you have a child starting Prep or Year 7.
