Quarter goes to a payment on my braces and another quarter will pay for my flights to Bali :leap:
The rest will be used for topping up what we lose when DF's work goes quiet

Has anyone actually had it paid into their account yet? Or does it go in tonight?
Well since I don't have to stock up on nappies or formula I am getting a bigger fridge, I am getting a few extra Chrissy presents for the kids and I am also getting MYSELF some clothes :)
It goes in when your next payment is due..
for example my next FTB payment is due Friday so i assume it will be in the bank then,,
it isn't showing up on the centrelink website yet but I was told or read it will show up 2 days prior to it going in..
another thing i read was if you were due to be paid FTB today then expect it in the bank by wednesday..
Would you beleive i only have 1 yes ONE newborn nappy...and its one FJ made for Jasmine....i never started MCN til She was aorund 12 weeks old.....i have his cover already to go though.,..BumbleBee wont mind wearing a purple nappy underneath :p
I really should buy some....i was gunna go get sposies :shhh:
We just bought a maxirider AHR so that part will go towards the credit card.
And then I'll be having me a dishwasher once we're back in our house!!
I'm getting the car serviced and paying for my Cert 4 - f there's anything left then thats going on pressies - a trip to crazy clarks for us I think :(
Who cares if the idea is to spend it and put it back into the economy? Why not let them go and blow it on a new handbag?? You can't tell me these people don't know how to spend money.:
Why on earth should my taxes subsidise paying a bonus to the likes of the Packers or Hewitts?
I could say the same that I don't want my tax dollars to fund Kel84's trip to Bali! (sorry Kel.. had to pick one ;) ) Or I don't want my tax dollars paying for someone's alcohol for a month!
And actually it is discrimination. Against those who don't have children, and those that earn more than others.
discrimination: to make a distinction in favor of or against a person or thing on the basis of the group, class, or category to which the person or thing belongs rather than according to actual merit; show partiality
i see it as i paid tax and now it is my turn until i return to work next year! lol
we bought a new computer already so will pay it off.
It's ok Liz :p I'm flying virgin blue so Aussie dollars to Aussie people :D and DF paid over $20,000 in tax last year so we wont be taking your tax lol!
hehe - I'm sure the packers wouldn't be taking my tax either :)
But the whole idea is for it to be spent. Anyone is able to do that. In fact a rich person would probably see $1000 as pocket change and spend it in an instant! I just think it's dumb that you have to be eligible for this payment.
Maybe it should have been done in the form of vouchers so it HAD to be spent. Bit like the $200 voucher thingo for registering for GST. You had to go and spend it, it wasn't just a cash handout.
I reckon if they had of done it in vouchers probably only the bigger companies would have received the money where as being cash smaller companies/business will receive some of it too
is anyone having trouble logging on to the family assist website?
Ah bugger it!!
I might see into getting a tummy tuck..I might then donate the waste blubber to those guys who keep slaughtering the Whales
ours is going on xmas pressies and also concreting for a pergloa and fixing the driveway so helping out a small local concrete business rather than using a large one.
My next FTB payment isn't due until Monday the 15th but the c/link site says my "xmas bonus" is going in this Wednesday the 10th, so you may all get it earlier than you think!!:D:dance:
Owee Marlene, that sounds nice!
you're a crackup maz!
i'm buying a new double pram and maxi rider ahr. can't wait!
Aha Maz you crack me up! Your such a caring person to think about others when doing something for yourself also ;)
Getting a new big boy bed for Ds2. The rest shall be put away until we can decide what to do with it - most likely new tyres on Dhs car (desperately needed).
Very true Liz. I know that for us, even a little bit of extra money would come in handy, we may not have kids yet (one on the way!!), but we pay our taxes as well... And at the moment we are pretty much living off my income, which being on a traineeship is not much more than $300/week, DF has his own business but at the moment is not drawing a wage from it as there is just no money there to take!
So yeah, we are struggling at the moment with money, I don't see why we should be "discriminated" against just because we are young and don't have kids yet, we still have all the same bills and our income at the moment is a pittance... JMO
i have been trying all day to see on the c/l site when i would get mine...obvoiusly everyone else is to!
we still arent sure what we will be spending it on..
ETA: i just checked and its going in on wednesday! yee ha
now that would be good..
i would join that group too!!
haha
Is that with the medicare rebate?
oh is there a rebate? I just sent an email off to a plastic surgery place near me and they sent back a detailed email and said that it would cost everything.. right from first visit to last..
A few years ago when I looked into it, if you've had a c/s or lost a dramatic amount of weight then you are entitled to a rebate on some plastic surgery (ie. tummy tuck & boob lift) Dunno if this still applies though!
Sorry to be OT ;)
$2000 of our $3000 will be going onto a new car, $500 of the left over $1000 that will we have will be paying for insurance of said new car. $150 of the remaining $500 will finish the xmas shopping (well if you can call giving cash shopping LOL), and the remaining $350 will sit in our bank account.
Hmm Thanks for that info will look into it a bit more..
Can't do it for a few years yet but still can't hurt to have a plan there can it
Maz U crack me up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maz  you made my day! Well almost! Found out this arvo after weeks of thinking we would be not getting the bonus...we are getting it woohoo! the only thing is DH wont let me spend it! So i said are you going to go against our mr potato spudd cause he says SPEND SPEND SPEND! lol!
I want to but some new clothes and maybe some sunnies, and would love to get an ipod too? Oooh am sooo excited! :)
TBH We have no plans for ours yet! All our Xmas shopping is done and there is nothing we need or want. So it looks like it may be going into the rainy day account!
No overdue bills or credit cards here. Might get a new washine machine because the $30 garage sale one I bought when I moved out is about the walk out the back door.
Off to check the website though, cos my FTB isn't due until Friday week.
Had a brain wave overnight- I am buying myself a BB memebership with my bonus. That's $300 down (including dh's Xmas pressie), only $700 to go if I am going to do my patriotic duty and spend, spend, spend....
Oh Lori what an ace idea woman!!! I should pay for life memebership...after paying every year for the last 3...hmmmmmm
