Proof of identity/commencement of identity/use of idenity & points
my brain has fizzled out! we already get FTB and FTA. so 'clink know who we are. we're currently going though the paper work for the carers allowance thingy for DJ and it says that when we send in the paper work (bah, so meany questions my brain died!) we need to send in documents (well for me i'm guessumeing?) for proof of identity. now this is the part that made my brain go *puff* into smoke was they dont want photo copied stuff. what dose that mean? i know most likely has a really really simple solution but my brain can't seem to warp its self around it. do i go into c'link and show them thease things? go to an Aussie post outlet and show them they copy and 'site' it?
DH normaly does all the paper work, but even he got confuzzled when i told him about it, but that most likely my fault
We always take the originals into a Centrelink office - if they want copies, then they take them themselves after seeing the originals. But each time we have, they haven't needed them because they already have it all on file from when we claimed the baby bonus.
take the originals to the office - they will site them, record the relevant details (document numbers) on the system, and you keep them. they don't retain copies of any POI, just record the document numbers
ftb is different to any other payment - for ftb, they take your details at face value. for anything else, they need to see 100 points of ID. it actually comes up to more than 100 points you need though, cos anything you use to confirm proof of birth (or arrival) in australia (birth certificate or passport) can't be used for your 100 points
thanks BG & PRM.
looks like i'll be halling my bum to c'link early friday morning then. do i give them the paper work back then too? or do i send it off after?
