What the heck is going on with my chart? Is this normal?
Ok, I'm completely lost on this one...
I ovulated on CD15, thats for sure, confirmed by ultrasound, and my temps went up for 3 days, then went back down again to almost the pre-ovulation dip temps for the last two days...?
I don't know if this is a bad thing or a good thing for pregnancy chances...? I guess there is still a chance they will just go back up right?
Anyone else had a chart like this with good outcomes?
Hi Alisia, I've used natural fertility management techniques (charting etc) for contraception and conception for almost 5 years now and in my experience usually when your temp goes back down it means you are not pregnant. What you want to see is your temp rising and staying high after you ovulate. You will often get a tiny dip in temp the day before you O then it goes up and stays up if you are pregnant. One importnant thing to note is once you have seen the temp rise it means the egg has already been released and if you then start BD-ing it's often too late. If you don't get your BFP this month make sure you start trying several days early and continue until several days after your tmp rise. A herbal supplement that is good to try is Chaste Tree (sometimes called Vitex). Take this whilst you are TTC and then stop once your get that fabulous BFP. There is also a very good book called Natural Fertility Management by Francesca Naish avalable which discusses the NFM techniques in detail. I have never fallen pregnant "by accident" and we conceived our DS within 3 months of trying and our current princess in waiting on the first cycle and also my Husband and I use no artificial contraception at all and haven't since 2003. It's a great technique once you become confident and get to know your body, you'll never go back!
Good luck, I hope you are in the "family way" really soon.
Well, I have stalked some charts and have seen quite a few that have some erratic temperatures which still resulted in a BFP, so I am still feeling hopeful!
BB are getting sore, is it too early for that? I think some of the things I am experienceing are 100% psychological, but these sore bbs, well I'd have to have a strong mind to produce these!
Hi Kris,
Well unfortnately DP and I don't really have the option of BDing to try and get pregnant, so we rely on the timing of the IUI, which was actually pretty good, according to FS . Thanks anyway.
Oh Alisia, I've just realised what a goose I am! I've been following your TTC journal too and just didn't put 2 and 2 together! Didn't recognise your ID, what a dill, maybe it's just that I am sooo ditzy when I'm prg, I'm so sorry, I hope I didn't offend you.
I don't know if IUI cycles work the same as other cycles, I would think so though as it's the same just with a bit of help.
Please don't think I'm insensitive I simply didn't recognise the ID before I replied earlier, when it twigged I thought "oh you idiot".
I hope that things go well and the temp dip is a little hiccup nothig more.
Hehehehe kris, no worries, is ok. Not offended! lol
I hope its just a hiccup in my temps. I did test early this morning, about a hour earlier, and temps are lower earlier, so I'm hoping this is all it is! I have also noiced other people have dips all throguh their charts so fingers crossed its just a normal occurance for me... i wouldn't knwo as this is first cycle temping, using OI meds, and first cycle of TTC, so maybe I'm just overreacting! lol
The TWW is hard! Very emotional, and funny how you can notice the tiniest things in the charts and your body, and wonder... Yes or no?!?!?!?
My last cycle was quite erratic but it did result in pregnancy, a short lived one, but it was a pregnancy. My temps went up and down a little until they started to go obviously higher just one day before I tested positive and then continued to rise then steadied out until I miscarried the following week. It's a bit early for BB symptoms I think. I often get that as a symptom in week 3 of my cycle but find it disappears in week 4, last cycle it did not disappear so for me I know it's a good sign, but only if it's week 4.
