how long do i have to wait... just took implanon out
hey there everyone. i just wanna kow if someone has been in the same situation as me because its really starting to becaome frustrating.
i had my imlanon(the rod under your skin for controception) taken out 2 days ago and i still havent had my period. whats more i havent ovulated. i have that maybe baby ovulation thing so i i even know when im transitioning... but still othing.
i dont wanna go to my dr cos i know she'll say jus give it time... but has anyone else taken implanon out... can you tell me how long it took to get back to normal.
i guess im a bit concerned because they say you are fertile 11 hours frm when you take it out. if thats the case then i should of ovulated by now right?
I had an Implanon removed in 2004 when I wanted to try to conceive my first child. I too was told that I would be fertile pretty much straight away. Unfortunately I didn't have a period at all for the first 6 months after it's removal. I tried a few natural therapies, and still only got breakthrough bleeding and no real cycle. I ended up going to my GP who refered me to a fertility specialist. He found that I had polycystic ovaries and I had to go the Clomid route to conceive.
This of course is just my experience and I'm sure that your path to conception will be much easier, but do give it time and don't stress yourself about it so early because everyone is different, and everyone's cycles and return to fertility are different.
I hope someone else can give you a more positive story of fertility returning after Implanon.
Good Luck on the TTC journey.
If you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask.

Sorry for the flippant answer but unfortunately there isn't a hard and fast answer. Some women are fertile immediately after ceasing birth control of any form, others must wait to resume normal cycles.
Have you considered charting your temperatures to see what is happening? This could also help you to save time if consulting with doctors down the track if you are still having difficulties.
Good luck. Hope things get back to normal for you soon.
