    Experienced charters please

i need your help! I have only just started charting as you can see if you look at my chart from other peoples charts that ive seen and my understanding of the patterns shouldnt i have ovulated on day 19 not day 21 FF is saying? I could be completely wrong but i thought when you got the drop (although my 1st temp) that was when you O not when it begins to rise again

    MrsS,
The dotted cross hairs on the chart indicate that there is conflicting information in FF analysis of your O day. Looking at your chart it is mostly likely the result of your fertile CM not coinciding with the temp rise. (From memory) There needs to be 3 days of sustained temp rises (which is indicated on your chart). FF usually gives a reason for the dotted cross hairs... can you see any explanations?

I think the issue with your chart is the lack of temps pre-O. You could try and put a couple of 'fake' temps in and see what happens. I would have acctually said CD20 based on your temps.

    Hey hun.

I would actually agree with FF and what CBG and tanya said. O is detected by at least three temps 0.2 degrees higher than all your previous ones. Single temps in themselves don't actually matter (frustrating, I know) but what matters more is the pattern that emerges. Looks like you've definitely O'ed, I'd say either cd 20 or 21, as the temps jumped then. The temp after your dip didn't really do anything special, so probs not O, kwim? Take a look at my chart. I thought O might be on that big dip, but the temps after it didn't jump, but you can clearly see when the did start to. I have a dotted line because temps and cm don't quite match up, but I haven't really had any good cm since before I came off the pill. Hth hun Xx

Hey Mrs S! The dotted lines are definately cause the CM doesn't match up with O dates PLUS the fact that there's not enough temps to be absolutely sure of O. To me, from the temps you have included, it looks like FF is right. No, O is not indicated by a temp drop. It is indicated by the rise in temp that is sustained for at least 3 days after. It is not common to get an O dip and by looking at your chart it doesn't look like an O dip. After O, your temp drastically increases, as yours have done, but the very next day, not two days after.

Sorry, I'm not real good at these explanations. I hope I have made some sort of sense. Did FF send you the charting tutorials when you joined up? If not, you can request they be sent to your email.

Grrrr, charting can be frustrating when you don't have a text book chart. It definately does take a few months before you'll see your personal patterns and find out what does & doesn't work for you. Remembering everyone is different and not everyone has text book charts.

    Good luck with it

    MrsS,
You've got good advice from Georgi.
With all my love and respect, try not to look/stress into every rise and fall on your chart.... you'll see a pattern emerging after a few charts and you'll be able to overlay the charts to see the pattern &/or any changes (reduces any hmmmm.... getting your hopes up too high, only to be let down that AF arrived).

If you're thinking implantation, FF notes that it is only on hindsight that will be known.
