First day of cycle

Hi All,

Im confused. I'm new to charting and i thought i read somewhere that your first day of the cycle was your last day of your period. How do you identify when the last day of your period is?

OR is it the first day of when you get your period?

HELP, trying to use fertility friend and its getting quite confusing! LOL

So why do people always refer to LMP? Last Menstural Period? what is that?

When ppl say my LMP was "so-and-so" date it usually means the first day of their LMP. A menstrual phase is your whole cycle

The last is 'last menstrual period' refers to the last (i.e. most recent) period or the last (ie final period) prior to an event such as a positive pregnancy test. It is dated from the first day of the period as Tanya wrote.
