Smile Help with my first chart please!

    Hi all,

Im new to charting and TTC#2. I have had spotting since 7dpo (am now 10dpo) which has been dark brown/ black and bright red and lighter than regular AF. I have also had a leutal phase dip at 8dpo which could indicate IB. Could experienced charters please have a look at my chart and let me know what they think? Early AF or IB?

Thank you in advance for any advice! And fingers frossed it's good news, lol.

Well I have another semi-low temp today, doesnt seem nearly high enough to indicate pregnancy from othr charts i've seen. If anyone thinks otherwise from experience, please let me know.

I was so sure this was THE month and now i'm starting to think my 'spotting' was really AF. But why would AF arrive so soon after O? How can I have a leutal phase length of only 6 days? Or was there something wrong with the egg? I think i'm losing my mind!

It's been a while since I charted so I can't recall everything exactly but your temp is still above that magic red line. From memory I has lowish temps most months that I temped. I'd also recommend getting a basal Body themometer (a BBT) as they go to 2 decimal places. I started using just a reg themometer but when I changed to a BBT, I could see my temp trends a bit better so I could predict things a bit better.

Ok we need more info.... How long have you been ttc? How old is your first child? Have your cycles been regular? Do you have PCOS or anything like that? How are you temping (vag or oral)? It looks as though you are not temping at the same time each day, can you tell us more?

If I were to look at your temps alone I would say you haven't O'd... your OPK's, CM and CP tell otherwise. I would recommend chacking your CP everyday to get to know it a little better and it will help in your interpretaion of your body's cycle.

My background is: I'm 29 (30 in March), DH and I have a 3yo DD and have been TTC#2 for 2 years (but, in saying that, my husband has been away with work for probably over a year of that time intermitently). I have Polycystic ovaries but not the syndrome ie. im very athletic and on the lean side and lead a healthy lifestyle (no smoking, a glass of wine every couple of nights with dinner).

Ive been taking my temps orally with a BBT but admittedly I havent been taking them at exactly the same time each morning because I wake a LOT during the night - once to DD, once to my DD kicking me, once from a wierd dream..you get the picture. Quite often I dont even get a 3 hour block of sleep. I dont even think I could set an alarm because Im often lying awake leading up to the alarm going off, but when I wake up in anticipation of the alarm changes every day. So my sleep deprivation and 'insomnia' could have a huge impact on my temps.

I got 3 days of +OPKs and BD'd every day during that time, using Preseed and staying in bed with legs up for 30 minutes. I didnt have ANYTHING to drink over xmas/ NY.

Does that help any? Should I just go by my BM and OPK's and not temps because I'm such a lousy sleeper do you think?

I decided to chnge my chart from 'spotting' to 'light' AF. My temp hasnt gone back up so might as well start all over again.

Hopefully I dont have my period for 4 weeks and then have to wait another 40 days after that to ovulate again like I did last cycle. Guess I will have to spend another small fortune on OPK's since my temps dont help very much.

    Feeling pretty down today.

    HI Soph

I had a look at your chart yesterday but did not post. I think it will be a bit hard to interrupt what is going on with your temps, especially when you have such a distrupted sleep.

Do you think that you spotting was/is actually AF? Is this something normal for you?? I see the reason why you may have changed it to light AF cause it has gone on for some time. You COULD by 11dpo today - have you done a HPT just to be sure before changing your data?

As for spending a small fortune on OPK's - I have just bought 20 OPKs and 20 HPTs off ebay for $16 (includes postage) cause I know how expensive the shop ones are!! You can buy up to 40 OPKs as well from some of the sellers. Maybe something to look in to???
