Help Needed - Could I have Ovulated?

    Hey Ladies,

I am not sure what is going on....on Monday I had a lot of slippery CM and sharp cramps. I also just had a feeling that I was ovulating (does anyone get this?).

And on Tuesday my temp went up but since then it has just stayed around the same temp.

Does this mean I have ovulated or not? Any thoughts, ideas would be awesome.

    My chart is at http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/1a62dd

    Thanks

    Hi Sam

I had a look at your chart & really couldn't tell anything by it. Your symptoms sound like O ones but your chart is not showing O - no coverline. I get pain on O day but then have to wait a few days to see if FF pinpoints it on the same day. I've only charted two cycles so far and both times I've predicted it correctly. I think the reason why you don't have a coverline is that your temps have not gone above your highest pre O temp.

Are you being really strict with taking your temp at the same time every morning, imediately after waking? I've done an experiment throughout the day and found that my temp is often far higher during the day than it is on waking - for instance when I went to bed yesteday my temp was at 37.2 but on waking yesterday it was 36.5 & today 36.4. I've also noticed if you do temps if you wake in the middle of the night they are always different to when you wake to your alarm.

    Hey satya,
THanks for replying. It is all so confusing to me??

I have been taking my temps at the same time everyday....at 6.20am when the alarm goes off. Even on the weekend I seem to wake up at about that time and just take my temp then.

I was wondering how FF makes the coverline....so is it when the temp goes above your pre-O temp?

    THanks

I'm by no means an expert as I'm new to FF as well but I believe that you get a coverline once there is a temp shift that is above your highest pre O temps that stays there for 3 days. In your chart your temps are higher in the first half of the cycle so I really don't know what that means. Do you normally have such long cycles?

    Hi satya,
I am not sure what my cycles are normally like....I have been off the BCP since Jan07 but have been taking Clomid since then...but the Clomid hasn't worked....so I have never ovulated.
It is all just so confusing....I wish you could just know for certain if you had ovulated.

    Hi Sammy,
It's just my opinion but I think if you have those two symtoms you probably are about to O or have just O'd! O pain and slippery Mc is a pretty strong indicator.
It sounds pretty convincing to me. I think I read that you can get O pain for a couple of days and that it can indicate that O is coming anywhere from right away to 24 hours away.
I do FF chart but some months I think FF is out by a day or two.
Is it possible anything could have caused you to have a higher temp in the first part of your cycle? A cold or other illness? Or something in the last few days that could be keeping the temps low, ie waking up cold or mouthbreathing?
I guess you'll have to wait a few days to see if you get a coverline. Are you getting a CD21 test to check?
    good luck!!

    Hi Ladies,
    Thanks
Well my temp has gone up and down and all over again so no O
    Oh well.
I have been having sore breats and cramps for the last few days so I am not sure what that is meant to mean? Could this mean something is happening?

Sam, your chart reminds me so much of my early ones... which never, ever showed ovulation and would go for 70-80+ days. Clomid didn't work for me either.

But the good news is that we've found a drug that does work - letrozole rocks!

What does your FS have you doing at the moment?

    Hi Sammy.

Hope it is something happening!! Good luck, fingers crossed!

I would put more emphasis on the CM as a sign of O than the temps.

I have PCOS and my temps are usually all over the place and do not give a good indication of O (also other factors can be involved such as human error and inaccurate thermometer). My temps do not rise even when I am preg, so I threw out the thermometer a long time ago!! That is not to say that it is not a useful guide for some!!

The CM signs have never proven me wrong yet!! I know when my cycle is on track or completely out of whack!!

GOOD LUCK and sending you sticky BFP vibes for the very near future.

    Hey Ticklish,
That is good to hear because I was starting to think that maybe the temps were out of whack because I really feel like I have ovulated (if that makes sense).
My DH has told me to throw out the thermometer because it makes me crazy.

    Hey BW,
I am going to have a lap and hyst on July 12th and then I am moving onto injections and IUI.

    Thanks for your kind words.

Sammy i know what you mean about wanting to throw out the thermometer...DH tells me the same thing all the time but my FS wants me to take temps so he can see whats going on.

I am in the same boat this month. Will find out Wednesday if i have or havent ovulated when i get the results from tomorrows BT.

Just a quick question to all, if you wake a few times during the night will that affect your temps? I have had really restless sleep for about a week.

    Hi WalkingArt
Yes, restless nights will affect your temps, also dont use your electric blanket as this will affect it too - hard i know but consider it a practice run for when you get your BFP.
I find it best to use temps along with studying your CM and then opk's to see when you ovulate. Good Luck with your results - i'm having mine done again after this cycle too.

Hi guys, I also wonder about my temps sometimes, I do suffer with irregular sleep sometimes, especially mid cycle. I think it relates to the stress of temping.
if it doesnt line up with my mc I sometimes think it might be wrong. I too am having a lap after this cycle. I havent tried any drugs yet but I have started chinses herbs, ikki but warming and pleasant in a way.
    Good luck everyone!!!

    Hey Ladies,
Does anyone know of anyone whose temps showed they hadn't O but they actually had? (does that make sense?)

Sammy, your chart looks like mine last month. It wasnt great for me but fingers crossed for you. AF came today on CD 48 with a very sharp drop in temp. You dont have a coverline on your chart - neither did i but my dr said that it is possible that my temps may be slightly due to so many factors, i mentioned some before. Good luck

    Hey Sally,
WOW! I just presumed it would always be spot on....but I guess there are so many variables that can go wrong when you are charting.
I need to remember that it is really only a guide.
I just get so stressed about it. We have just hit our 6th month of trying and this week I am having a really hard time about it. I mean I knew it would take time and I am trying to be positive but sometimes you just want to scream!
    SOrry for the vent.

I would mark on the calender when you felt it and watch, if AF comes in 2 weeks from date on calender, then probably pretty good chance you O'd. I realize that does not help you now, but you may discover a pattern. I know DW can almost always feel her egg release. If she tells me she felt a pain in that area and I look it up in the software program we use, she is usually spot on for the date ovulation is predicted.
