    LP??

Ok I've just done my first ever chart and found that I have a 28 day cycle with a 10 day LP, I o'ed on day 18 going by FF. I'm still b/fing but want to TTC very soon. Now for my question.

Is it still possible to get pg with at 10 LP or is my body still getting into some sort of rythum (sp) whilst I'm b/fing? Help I'm so confused.

    hugs xoxo

    Yep, definitely possible
And yep, your body may still be getting into rhythm, so your LP may still lengthen

It is possible but it is more difficult. LPD or luteal phase defect is classed as a LP equal to or under 12days. Some say 11...

The reason it can make pregnancy more difficult is that a pregnancy implants 5-8 days after ovulation. Sometimes a little earlier sometimes a little later. 7 days after ovulation progesterone peaks and then drops which is what triggers a bleed. If a preg implants 8-10 days post ovulation you can see that your progesterone won't be at it's optimal thus making a less favourable hormonal environment for pregnancy.

Many women do successfully conceive with a 10day LP. I personally had a LPD and I had 2 miscarriages ? due to this. I was put on clomid which rectified the problem.

However, a short LP is common in breasfeeding Mamas and post birth. Keep charting and keep an eye on it. When it comes time to TTC if it's still short you can lookinto it further then with a gynae...

    I hope that helps some...

    Thanks girls.

I think that I may have had an early m/c as yesterday when I started bleeding it was quite heavy and extremely clotty, usually it's not heavy until day 2, plus the flow has seemed to have slowed today. I guess I'll never really know for sure.

Good luck for this cycle Amanda and keep up the charting ... it does take a while for a pattern to emerge. Sorry I can't add any knowledge about length of LP and B/feeding.

Flowerchild ... thanks so much for sharing your knowledge ... I have a LP of 12-13 days and have been having trouble conceiving this time around. You've given me something else to google now ... LPD hmmmmm.
