No AF but can/should I temp?

    Hi all,

I am sure that one of you lovely posters will be able to assist me with this question, for those of you who have seen my posts in other threads I apologise but I will quickly give my story - for those of you who haven't seen the posts... this is where I am:
Implanon removed in August 2008, still awaiting AF to return, did not have AF very often during the 6 years used Implanon as BC, doctors suspected PCOS whilst Implanon was in but could not diagnose properly until Implanon removed... received confirmed diagnosis September/October 2008 and commenced Metformin in October 2008 (have only been on this for 3 days so far)...

Ok, now that I have all of that out of the way, my question is whether or not I should temp as I am not sure if the no AF factor will play a part in it... I mean obviously temping wouldn't show O as if no AF then no O... so I am not sure if temping would provide any information other than what my temp is each day???

Your thoughts???? Thank you for reading this longish post!!

    tk1999,
I started temping before going off BCP so I could get in the habit of temping for when I came off. I think I started about halfway through a cycle. I don't see why you can't start temping even if you're not sure if you've O'd or not. You can also check CM and cervix positon (if you're that keen - I'm not). You may just start seeing patterns on your chart about what may be occuring - don't know how PCOS affects charting but if you want to try it; probably can't hurt for a while (unless you start obsessing too much on the charting)
    Hope this helps a little
    Liz

Thanks Leckert, I was umming and ahhing about this for a while but then today I got the sign I needed to start... you see I went to the toilet for my usual just before home time tinkle and... AF seems to have arrived!! (sorry if TMI) I have NEVER been so excited to see AF!! She took her time, I realise not as much as others have experienced but she is back after having the Implanon out in early August 08.
DP is working away at the moment and didn't seem to care too much when I rang him so I just had to get on here to share this great news... I am in SO much pain but I love it because at least I know things are working!!
    So temping here I come...
