    Unhappy Short Luteal Phase...I think

    Hello everyone!

    This is my first post

I am getting a bit worried that my luteal phases are too short. I read that they should usually be 12-16 days long. To my dismay I started my 'monthlies' today (albeit very light)...only 9 days post-ovulation

    Here is my chart... http://www.fertilityfriend.com/ttc/i...p?d=2008-09-23

I came off the pill in February, and have been temping on and off for a bit...just started up again this month as we are hoping to start trying for a baby in December.

Has anyone else experienced this? I'm not sure if I'm getting worried over nothing.

Btw - this month has had a few stressful things happen - could this have contributed to the short LP, do you think?

Thanks so much for your help

    Hey BeanyBub

Is that the right address? Go to Sharing, Home Page Setup and copy paste in the address underneath 'YOur charting home page web address'.

An ovum only needs 10 days to implant so it is certainly possible to get a bfp still If you count o day and 9dpos - u r aok. The stats try and fit everyone into the same slot and as u know, not all women have a regular 28 day cycle with o on cd14.
I think it is unlikely that your luteal phase (time from o to AF) changed, it is more likely the follicular phase (time from AF cd1 to o) which is messing u around. Stress can mess u around but should not stop o, just maybe extend AF for an extra day or shorten your follicular phase.

I would keep up the temping and maybe try opks as a cross-referencing tool. I note that u came off the pill in February, it is possible that your body is still adjusting but I would check out the theory that maybe u do have a shorter lp overall.

Thanks Ellee...I feel a bit better about it now. Yes, I think perhaps I'm still adjusting to coming off the pill...strange things have been happening since coming off (hair falling out for a start!)

I'll def keep up temping, fingers crossed for this month!

And thanks for the tip re my FF link...I haven't done this before! Maybe this will work:

    Hi Beanybub,
I am going through a similar thing I have had 2 cycles since coming off pill (in June mind you, took her some time), first LP was 6 days, second was 9 days. I think it does take some time to adjust after the pill I have read that a short LP is a common accurence after pill use. Apparently vitamin B6 helps, I just started to take it this cycle so hopefully it helps me reach that extra 3-5 days. Good luck!
