I think 12 months.
But if you are over 30 I think you have to only wait 6 months??
How long have you been trying? Good luck.
I just wanted to know what the time frame is when you have been TTC and no BFP should you seek medical help? I just thought I would be pregnant by now. I know it can take a while for some healthy couples. But is it one of those things that its better to have it looked at early to see if they can detect any problems?

Most people conceive within 12 months so most doctors will not investigate until after that unless you are over 35 when they may look into things earlier. I wouldn't rush into getting help as it can be a very bumpy road to go down, when all you need is a bit more time to let nature take its course. Good luck.
I have only just started really. I have had about 5 cycles since coming off the pill. The last 2 cycles I have been charting but have not attempted BBT charting yet. Cause DH wasn't too keen on it. But I am going to go and get a BBT thermometer from LLC on the web today. This cycle I used OPK and it showed a positive right where it was supposed to we have been BD a lot this cycle, especially around the +OPK, to try and catch the egg. Today is day 22 of my cycle and I think 11DPO. I started to get very slight dull cramping yesterday, so I am expecting AF to arrive Sunday or Monday. I just worry that there is something wrong but everything seems normal. My cycles are very regular and about 26-28 days long. I am 31 and DH 35, I just need to be patient. i have just been waiting so long to start TTC, I am desperate to fall, its all I can think about!
I need to take my mind of it, but I even dream about it...I think I am going crazy!
It depends on your GP as well. I know mine wants to see anyone over 30 who hasn't fallen prenant within 6 months of trying. That way if there are any problems they can be addressed sooner rather than later. I htink if you are charting then you are better armed with information that will assist the doctor if you do have to go so probably better to do it (as it is something they may ask you to go away and do anyway).
Good luck!! I hope you won't need to go to the doctor.
Yep, we were also told to wait a year. It was a LONG year! It took us 15 months to conceive our first DD (naturally). I was 22 then.
Have you checked out Fertility Friend for charting? It's wonderful! (online - just google. LOT'S of information and support.)
And, I have always charted with a regular digital thermometer and haven't had any trouble. You could start with what you've got now, and then switch to the new thermometer in the next cycle. (don't use different thermometers in the same cycle - they can be out a little.)
My Dr said that if I have conceived within 3 months to come back and see him, I am just one cycle away from that visit. But I may wait it out, although it is agonising waiting, but at least this forum and all you lovely ladies gives some relief for getting things off your chest. I am using FF already and the next cycle I will definately use the BBT as well as OPK.
