    Temp help please!!

    Hi!
This is only my second charting cycle (in to the 7th month TTC with clomid), but my temps are really high for the begining of my cycle. For the past few days they have been around the 37oC mark which is about half a degree above last cycle's coverline.
I have had a few restless nights sleep due to my baby being unwell but i had expected that to make my temps lower? Is this wrong?
Any suggestions as to what might be going on would be much appreciated!
    Thanks

I think with the combination of broken sleep and clomid will have an affect on your temps.

I would keep temping and hope they settle, but make sure you keep tracking your other fertile signs. The more fertile signs you record the better your chances of FF detecting O.

I have read before that Clomid causes temps to rise. Maybe thats got something to do with it.

My temps are always high at the start of my cycle too thats why when FS looks at my chart and says that it does not show evidence that i ovulated because it doesnt look like the ideal chart (low temps at the start and high temps after ovulation) i never understand how he can make that assumption when Clomid messes with your temps anyway. I guess he is the specialist and knows what he is talking about though!

    Thanks WA and Tanya

This morning I tested at 4.15am after 7 hours solid sleep thinking that i would get a more reasonable temp, but it was even higher! How am I ever going to know when i have O'd????!!

LG - Have you thought about calling your FS and asking her opinion. Those are consistently hight temps...
I would aslo suggest that if you are up to it, you should just BD every second day to ensure that you do catch your egg when it comes along, as your temps might not really be any use to you...
How frustrating. Hope you are able to sort this one out.

Could you be pregnant? Just a suggestion
Maybe do an OPK and see what it does.

When I first looked at your chart I immediately thought pregnant. Is it possible the bleeding you had was implantation bleeding not AF? You didn't temp for a few days last cycle, and FF isn't definate with your O date, meaning when you last tested with HPT you could have been only 11DPO.

I know clomid can elevate your temps, but I have never seen someones temps consistantly rise when taking clomid.

I vote try another HPT just to be sure.

    Thanks for your responses, girls!

I have kinda been trying to put that pg idea out of my head for a few days!! I have no pg syptoms whatsoever, I never got a +OPK last cycle, and I got a BFN the day that AF arrived. It was quite a short AF visit (usually it lasts 5 days, but this time only 3), but it was more than what i would think implantation bleeding would be. I needed a pad for 2 nights, so it was a consistent flow. So I dont think there is much chance I could be pg.

I'll see what happens tomorrow....! I searched FF for high temps pre-O, but there wasn't any that was as high as mine for so many days!! Perhaps I'm just a freak I wouldn't put anything past my silly reproductive organs!! BTs have come back incorrect in teh past, OPKs never detect O, my body just has no clue about what Oing is unless i use clomid... Grrrrr!

Actually I know what i'm going to do! I'm going to use the normal thermometer (in the ear) as well as my BBT (mouth) one tomorrow morning, and see if they come up with similar temps. I just tested it then and my LC BBT one came up as 37.04, and the other one came up with 36.6, so maybe the thermometer is weird?

My friend (a nurse) told me that unless the ear thermometer is exactly at the right angle, it can be quite inaccurate. You may want to get DH to do the ear thermometer, to make sure it's at the right angle (pretty tricky to do it for yourself!)

Another idea would be to temp vaginally. Not my cup of tea but lots of woman do it that way and believe its meant to be much more accurate.

Well my theory didn't work anyway! I know the ear thermometer isn't as accurate, but i thought it might give me some idea if it was waay lower than than the BBT. BBT gave me a reading of 37.09 and ear one gave me reading of 37.7!!! dear dear! If I had've seen these temps before i went to the loo I would've done a hpt i think just to get that silly idea out of my head! But I didn't look at the readings until just now. I had convinced myself that they'd be lower today! If they are still high tomorrow I'll do a hpt. I want to use FMU or else if it's BFN I'll be thinking its because it wasn't FMU!

Good luck darl... I hope you get a lovely surprise.

    Hi there,
could you be brewing a temperature??? I am no expert and I am new to this (and know nothing about clomid), but they seem to be on the higher end of normal.

I hope for you, you are pg. Good luck

Hi sare, I don't feel unwell. I was wondering if it's because I have my great big quilt on at night at the moment? I DO like to be snug!

Tanya, I think i'll stick to a HPT. I have a few of both so i may as well use them for their intended purpose. and i think I'd still have to use FMU for an OPK to detect pg, right? I've heard OPKs don't come up +ve for every pregnancy?

LG, I think by now either would work at any time of the day if you are truly pregnant
I just thought you could kill two birds with one stone... If you happen to do an OPK at the usual time you do an OPK if it came up ++ then you could be pg or Oing...
    Urgh... that's confusing.. LOL

    Good luck
