    Confusing bbt chart

I don't have an image to post at the moment, but I can get one if needed.

Just a bit confused... I had a normal chart, temp was low, then dropped and then went up, the way you would expect when ovulating. All was good and as expected.

Then on 6 dpo, the temp dropped back down and was on the coverline. I didn't think anything of it, but then today (7 dpo) it has dropped below the coverline and is now at a pre-ovulation temp. It was rather chilly last night, but I wasn't cold so surely that wouldn't affect it?

    I don't get it?

(Very unlikely that I am pregnant btw, as we had sex 10-11 days before ovulation, and we are not trying this month so haven't done it again)

Temp is still low today, and I started spotting just a little bit last night and it has continued today. It's like I'm getting my period, but I'm only 8 dpo??

i would hazard that it could be AF arriving...especially if you dont think the BD timing was right for egg catching...cause then i would think it could be implantation...
hopefully the next two days give some answers to you...i totally understand the frustration

I think maybe I ovulated on April 2, when I had EWCM, even tho my temp didn't change until later. It would make more sense, because then I would be expected my period around this time...

But why wouldn't my temp change until a week later? I don't get it...

    Thanks for your reply

hhmmm i think i would be more inclined to go with the temps. simply because you can get ewcm even without ovulation, whereas a temp shift is more reliable in guaging whether an eggie has been released if that makes sense.

how long are your cycles normally? and how long is your usual luteal phase? i ask because like you i used to always have late ovulation (CD17-19) and had to work really hard to ensure that i was getting the multivitamins right for that time...found that it helped with EWCM...which is handy if, like me, you have a short-ish LP (mine was 10-12 days).

i hope i havent made this more confusing for you lol! i only just realised that it is a late O and wanted to double check to see if this is normal for you, or just a strange cycle IYKWIM.

I have been on the pill for years, and this is my first month off it for about 5 years. Back in 2005 I charted for a few months and had textbook cycles. They were about 31-32 days then, and I had a normal luteal phase, so I'm guessing this is just a weird cycle then. Especially with just coming off the pill and have a m/c in March...

Oh well, maybe next month will be better Thanks
