Im going to be starting to chart really soon, but i dont really know how to...
Ive read about temping, and it seems to be easy etc...but how do u know from that when ur Oing etc?
And with fertilityfriend...how does that work? Do you have to pay to be a member??
Sorry im really confused with all this, theres just so many different ways...whats the best way etc??

You don't have to pay on fertilityfriend.
And you can sign up for a course thing where I think they send you an email everyday and explain all about charting.
They do that when you sign up. That's what I did and they explained it really well.
Oh ok, its just when i signed up last night, i saw something saying it was only a 30 day trial starting after i started recording my data, so i thought it would only be good for one cycle...
will i have to keep signing up?
Hi, no you wont have to sign up again. you actually get a free 30 day VIP member trial which enables you to use all the extras for free. If you dont want to pay it will expire and then you just have general things. You can still chart and everything. Lots of people sign up because basically if you dont want to pay all you can do is look at your chart and enter data, you cant compare charts with others or use the temp correcter etc. BEWARE if you do subscribe the amount is in american dollars so do the math beforehand.
Hi we were posting at the same time. You can get a bbt thermometer from any chemist or online at lullaby conceptions. Try to get a digital one as they only take about 30 secs to register your temp and give 2 decimal point readings, they also store your last temp if your anything like me and like to hit the snooze button! They retail for about $17-$20

I had no idea about any of this either till I started TTC! I had never even heard of taking BBT or anything. But the fertility friend course is really good, it explains about checking CM and everything, you will feel much more knowlegable after doing the course!
And the girls on here are really good if you don't understand something

The FF FAZ & the lessons they send you have the answers to all the info you are asking - you don't have to wait for the emails, you can read it all online there too. It gives detailed instructions for checking your CM, as well as descriptions of the various types and their significance.
I signed up after my free trial, it was $16.95 US which translated to about $A20, worth every cent.
I did not know about sites like fertilityfriend when I started TTC so I did everything my hand in a money column book that you get for a dollar at newsagencies. I ruled up some extra lines and was able to organise it the way I wanted to, going off the templates in Toni Weschler's book Taking Charge Of Your Fertility.
Another bonus was I was able to take the book with me wherever I went. Very handy as I had a few trips away and I did it all in pencil so it could be corrected easily. I must say though, that I did not do this for long as I got a BFP in the second month!
Fertility Friend subscription was totally worth it for me!
It was so helpful...and after I fell pregnant (a wonderful miracle after 3 long years of TTC), it switches over to a pregnancy tracker...which gives you weekly updates of what is happening...
TannedAngel - i've just started with FertilityFriend too! I joined about 2mths ago but didn't actually chart yet until tonight. at first it seemed daunting but now i'm getting used to it. it's just a matter of getting used to the site and watching the "lesson" videos they have too and they show you how to manouvre (sp?) around the site... it's good.
I'm not subscribing (yet) see how i go with the free join first....
Question for anyone out there -
I bought a digital thermometer from woolies couple months ago as i thought it would be useful for testing my BBT... will this work? its a digital one and looks the same as the other ones and it tests within 30secs etc .... will that do?
Renstar, i'm sure your themometer is fine. digital ones are good because they are easier to read and you dont have to shake them down each night - and they are quick.
Good luck with the charting, i hope you get to know your body well before you start to ttc so your ttc journey is a short one
I joined up with FertilityFriend the other night as well. Must be a sudden rush! Even though we're not TTC yet, I wanted to have a nice long hsitory of charted months so I can get to know my body's rhythms well by the time we TTC. I found it quite daunting at first as well, but slowly getting my head around it. I haven't got a thermometer yet, but intend to get a digital one, will probably order from lullaby conceptions, as I know a lot of the girls here on bb have used them and they seem quite reputable.
I like the idea of being able to track so many details of what's going on, and it gives me something positive to focus on that will help our TTC journey to be quick hopefully!
