Thumbs down DS missed out on a spot in 3 yo kinder

I am very disappointed. J really needs it for a social interaction as he does have a few "behaviour" issues.
He is on the waitlist. I got my form in nicce and early, so it is not that I forgot to get the form in. He is a Sept bub, so I would have thought that he would have easily got a place, but "no"
my experience of being on the waitlist means no - not likely.

They have told me to put him in the local ABC 1 day a week so he can do a program there. But why should I pay for a whole day of care, for the program.

Anyway just a bit of a vent. Hmm - I wonder if that means he will get in to 4yo? As priority goes to those who do 3yo there the year before. Then what will I do??!!

is there only one kindy in your area?

if it is socialisation you feel he need then the suggestion of childcare isnt a bad one. (remembering you get50% of what you spend back..

You only get 50% of what you pay back if you are either working or studying. But the childcare is also a great option as long as it is a good one.

YEs I wil lbe working next year, so I should get the rebate. We live in a semi rural town so there is limited resources.

He is currently in FDC one day a week, but as there are only three of them there when he is there, it is not the same. I was going to put him and DD in FDC one day a week next year as it is HEAPS cheaper than the centre, but might put him in the centre instead. (might still send Miss E to FDC - a bit of mucking around, but it will be cheaper)

Meg, did you know of what the cut-off date was to get in the enrolment form or are you guessing it was early that you put them in ??

As i live in regional Vic too & i must say i was shocked that i had to enrol my DD in before August last year for her to start 3year old Kinder May this year (she's a May 2006 bub) ... i for one didn't realise enrolling had to be done so early ... The 3year old Kinder is so busy at her Kinder this year they have had to put on on two seperate groups, one morning & one arvo session !!
