We get the minimum rate which works out to about $6 a day of CCB.

You know that you can claim the Child Care 30% rebate as well, right?
At then end of the financial year you can claim 30% off your out of pocket childcare costs (so after the CCB) up to $4000 per child in approved care, and they pay it to you in a lump sum? I think you get it back around September after the financial year your claimin for ie Sept 07 for 06-07 financial year.
