Stressing over preschool
Hi All,
I have a dilemma which Ive been totally stressing about so if anyone has any advice it would be well appreciated.
My DD currently goes to childcare that provides a pre-school program but isnt really good and the teachers are not qualified teachers, they are childcare carers.
So i have enrolled DD in a state preschool in a low socio area which she will not be attending school at but our local school does not offer preschool program.
There is a chance DD will make friends there but will not be attending the same school.
DD has already moved 3 times to 3 different childcare and I feel this latest one she is happier in (although she only goes one day a week and it has been a year and she doesnt have any friends =(
So which preschool would you choose?
I am putting so much pressure on myself as I dont want to choose the wrong path and has not been able to sleep for a while now.
Im in victoria so DD aged 5 is about to start school next year (prep). The kinder she attends isn't near the school we have enrolled her in, she didn't Know anyone before orientation but has already made friends, kids make new friends easily
I moved DS1 from a child care centre with a pre-prep type set up to a proper pre-prep at a kindy. He knew no-one at the kindy, and his school is in another area as we moved and he also knew no-one when he started school. It made no difference whatsoever that he knew no-one.
Every child is different so you are the best person to make the decision. However for my boys, the proper pre-prep suited them better even though they liked day care because they were ready for something new and different routines and challenges.
I should also add that there is probably no wrong decision here. I am sure whichever way you go will work out really well so try not to worry and just trust your gutt.
From another point of view my nephew went to a kinder with a school just around the corner. Out of his whole kinder class only one other child ended up enrolling in that school with him. The same happened to his older brother.
So there is no guarantee that the kids from kinder will go to the same school.
