We are planning to move back to Melbourne by end of this year. My boy will be 2 yrs old by then. Need to enrol him in one of the childcare centres in CBD. I am thinking we need to travel to city by train, so any childcare near Flinders or Melbourne central will be good. Also my work place will be around Bourke street between Elizathe and Queen. So any centers near there would be good too? Any suggestions?
There are three that I used to see from my Office building. They are in Collins Street near Southern Cross station. They are Kids on Collins, Sun Kids and I can't think of the other one. They are expensive in the CBD and also have very long waiting lists.
I used to work in the CBD and may have to go back (I am on Mat Leave) and found it much easier to do Child Care drop off before I got on the train, most of the centre's open at 6:30am. Not sure where you are going to live here, public transport is usually absolutely packed during peak times. On saying that I did see people having coffee's with there little one's before work and then dropping off to one of the one's I mentioned above, it was very cute and may work, depending on your work arrangements.
I would look into it very carefully and also start putting him down at places before you get here.
