my poor DS is covered in mozzy bites.when i picked him up from day care today he was covered..mozzy seem overly attracted to him anyway he always gets bitten but ive never seen him this bad he looks like he has chicken pox only they are big and swollen ( hes allergic ) . they are everywhere all up his legs arms face and hair line the only place free is his belly...
he defiantely had repellent on i could smell it plus i put it on before we left the house, i have given him antehistmine (sp)? and plastered on calamine lotion...
boor bugger i get like that with mozzie bites aswell, huge red lumps, as i got older they became less (or i just got better at getting them b4 they get me!) i use to put ice on the realy bad ones, stingoes works to, alternate between the both (calamine and stingoes) and it should help. make sure his nails are short with the cut edges filed away so its hard to scratch, it hurts more to scratch, but once you start, you cant stop!!
hope this helps.
apparently a few drops of lavender oil works, few drops on his skin (id test first make sure there was no reaction) there isnt a wetlands or swamp near by? i use to live near wetlands growing up, and they bred like wildfire in the muddy water almost year round.
Poor kid. Sounds like your daycare needs to check where the mossies are breeding? Maybe send him in light cotton long sleeves & pants to help keep him covered up?
