Zander is officially enrolled for Pre-School next year (like 3yr old kinder for those in VIC). I can't believe it, he's just getting too big. He'll be going one day a week for the year then in 2009 he'll be going two days a week. After that we'll decide if he's ready for kindergarten (first year at big school) or if he'll stay at pre-school for another year.

YAY Sarah. You won't know yourself with that days break hun. Make the most of it before bub comes along. Also I think it's a great idea for him to be starting before bub comes. Gives him to to adjust and all.
Tehya will be starting school the year she turns 5. Atleast that is the plan right now.
WOOHOO for Zander![]()
Yep we'll go shopping after Christmas for a new lunch box & schoolbag (that's a port right?!).
I'm pretty nervous already because he's never been with anyone aside from family, so it's very scary for both of us! He takes a while to warm up to people & doesn't like crowds (like his mum), so I was nervous about him getting upset being left. The good thing is though if he gets upset they only allow them a max of half an hour being upset, with trying to calm them down of course, before ringing me. I had visions of him crying hysterically for hours. My sister is a teacher for the big room as well, so whilst she's not his teacher, she's still around IYKWIM.
So 2010 for Tehya? We're undecided at the moment & will basically work it out in the year he's four what we'll do. Most of the time it's recommended boys go later, so we'll see.
Awwwwwwwwwwwwww *sniff* How sweeeeeeet! I'm so excited for you guysHe will LOVE it
Make sure you take lots of photos and send them to Auntie Cai

I think that goes without saying Auntie Cai![]()
Yes, 2010 for Tehya. Noah is starting school next year and he will be 6 in the May. I personally don't think he was ready for school this year and was glad that I held him back.
I agree too Sarah with boys usually needing to be held back. I did it with Brandon too, but that was easier decision, his bday is near the end of July.
Before Noah started pre school, I took him down for visits. I would stay there of course, but he was left to his own devices to interact with the other children, he even had lunch or morning tea with them one day. Tehya was lucky in that she was used to going in with Noah each week so she would have a little play each time. Of course, when it came to me leaving her there it was a different story.
Yep they've suggested that as well. Next term we're going to go down for an hour once a week for the last few weeks so he can get used to it. The director said that the kids that do that tend to settle in a lot quicker because they're used to the place.
Well we had our first hour there today & it was a great success, I think! We went when they have their outside time, so basically he gets to run around with the kids. At first he wanted me with him, but after a while nup he didn't care so much!! He discovered the water (baby bath sized thing filled with blue water, boats, cups etc) and that was it, he spent almost the entire hour there! My darling sister had put the colour in, but over did it so I have a little man with blue arms, face & feet (photos on his blog later LOL). When it was time for the kids to go inside & us to leave he cried, A LOT! He was so upset at having to go, but by the time we got to the car he was ok again. I think my worries were unfounded!
Sarah, that's great news. I hope it goes just as smoothly next year when Zander starts![]()
Aw Sarah he'll love it, you can tell already! He has grown up way too fast though, I remember reading his birth annoucement like it was yesterday!
Ooh Sarah - us too! We just enrolled her the other day. She's going one and a half days (one day is 9am till 1pm and then the next day is 9am till 3pm).
We took her there for a little while the other day to check the centre out and I turned around and she'd disappeared into the classroom with the kids for story time!
I am pretty confident it will go well and she'll love it, but if not we'll take her out and try again in 6 months or again next year.
Feeling a little sad about it but excited for her and I think it will be good for me to spend time with DS and get out and about and get some errands done etc etc.
