When I called the CCC this morning to see if they had a place for DS next year they mentioned something about when I go in tomorrow to let her know my percentage and she can tell me what the fees will be?
I'm very confused regarding this percentage. Can anyone let me know what she was talking about? I didn't even think to ask until I had already hung up!
you need to call centrelink and tell them the details fo the CCC you are looking at.
Or when you enrol the CCC will also send info to centrelink fo ryou.
You will then receive a letter (as will the CCC you elected) with the percentage of rebate you are entitled to s oyou can pay the gap rather than the full amount.
Oh I see.
I'm not sure how many days he'll be there yet depends which days I can get my classes on! They've only got 1 spot for 3 days a week available. So I guess I'll try for 2 days and hope I can get my classes on those days.
Should I call them before I go in tomorrow to pick up the enrollment form or just hold off?
yup - just call FAO 136150, tell them you're about to register your child in day care and need for them to make your child CCB (child care benefit) current. given that the provider didn't offer you a provider number, it sounds like they are on the new system, so nothing there that you need to link, just get your kidlet ccb current
you'll be asked to confirm yours and your partners income estimate at the time, so have that info handy. you can also ask to register for centrelink online services so that you can print out statements, view your payment details etc online.
it's only about a five minute call - but my understanding is that they're still pretty busy, so may take you a while to get through. make sure you have a cuppa ready and relax while you wait!
when you speak to c'link/fao, ask them for your crn (if you don't have it) and your kidlets crn - they're needed for enrollment forms. everything else is generic info they need
nella
they will als tell you how many hours you are covers for with the rebate.
we are only entitled to 2 days cc so that might help your decision on how many days to put him in.
if you work study or undergo training for 15 hours per week (including at home study) you'll get up to 50hour per week of subsidised care - if it's less than 15 hours per week, it's a maximum of 24 hours...
Thanks BG I just called them and my percentage will be estimated at 68.49% whatever that means..
I was just looking at the unit timetables and I have to be in classes for 15.5 hours a week. Looking at them I'll hopefully be able to fit them into 2 days..
i would book for three and withdraw them from the third if you need to - better to have a place and give it up than to struggle to find a third day if you need it...
with the percentage, basially what happens is that c'lin/fao have a max amount they pay (i think it's 3.12 or something per hour) - you get your percentage of that paid (so 68%of 3.12) - if the cc charges more, you pay the diff on top of that percentage
due to you studying and DP working, you'll get half of your out of pocket costs rebated each quarter
Ohhh I understand now. Thanks BG.
Do you know if I enrol him and decide to use FDC instead if its easy to unenrol him without paying the rest of the year or anything? He's never been left with anyone other than my mum so not sure what he's going to be like at a centre..
I looked into FDC about a month ago and found a few with vacancies so might go and see them all in one hit tomorrow and decide before I enrol him anywhere..
